Mormonian is a fraud

Debauchery And False Prophecies: Irrefutable Proof that Joseph Smith Was a Fraud, And Mormonism is Not Christian – By Nathan Jones - https://harbingersdaily.com/debauchery-and-false-prophecies-irrefutable-proof-that-joseph-smith-was-a-fraud-and-mormonism-is-not-christian/

One of the most prolific spiritual signs of the end times that point to the soon return of Jesus Christ involves the increasing appearance of false christs and their cults (Matthew 24:5,11,24). A cult is a counterfeit religion that practices deception to present a likeness to the original. Adherents claim to be genuine Christians while redefining biblical doctrines involving God, Jesus, and salvation to reduce their chances of detection and increase being accepted as authentic Christianity.

One of the most notorious and successful of these religious counterfeiters was Joseph Smith, Jr. (1805-1844), founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), better known as the Mormons. With nearly eight million followers today, the LDS Church continues to grow at an exponential rate, even some 180 years after Smith’s death.

However, the cult of Mormonism stands precariously like a house of cards, easily toppled by two simple and unarguable facts: Smith’s immoral character and his many false prophecies. To know what these are is to gain spiritual discernment and so not be duped by a false christ “masquerading as an angel of light” who was in truth a “false apostle and deceitful worker” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4,13-14).

Smith’s Immoral Character

Many historically documented accounts of Joseph Smith’s character demonstrate a lifestyle of immorality and debauchery that lie in stark contrast to the biblical man who lives in holiness and obedience to sound biblical doctrine.

Smith’s own testimony reveals him to be a serial liar. He claimed at the tender age of 15 to have been visited by “two glorious personages surrounded with a brilliant light which eclipsed the sun at noonday,” whom he identified as “the Father and the Son.” God Himself supposedly taught young Smith to despise Christian creeds, consider denominations as abominations, and believe that the Bible had been corrupted and so in need of restoration.

Three years later, Smith next claimed that an angel named Moroni directed him to a hill called Cumorah near the village of Manchester, New York to find hidden golden plates. There he would also find the Jewish high priest’s Urim and Thummin stones, and by looking through these stones, he could translate the plates from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics into English. Coincidentally, Smith just happened to find these artifacts right near his home.

To substantiate his discovery, Smith deviously qualified three witnesses — Oliver Cowdery, Martin Harris, and David Whitmer — as those who could testify to the existence of the plates while Smith kept them out of sight from the world during his time translating. Nobody but these four could have viewed the plates, for Smith revealed that the angel Moroni had conveniently returned and delivered them back up to Heaven before anyone else could have a look. These witnesses’ wretched moral character makes their testimonies completely dismissible. Both Whitmer and Cowdery were later charged by their fellow Mormons as thieves and counterfeiters, and Harris eventually admitted that he never had really laid eyes on the plates, but instead gazed upon them through his “eyes of faith.”

What Smith claimed to have translated were the written words of a man named Mormon who had been a descendant of a Jewish exilic pilgrim to the New World named Lehi. Once Smith had finished “translating” the golden plates into the Book of Mormon, he then revealed that John the Baptist had appeared to him to ordain him into the Aaronic priesthood. Now commissioned, Smith launched his new religion — Mormonism — on April 6, 1830, and quickly began amassing followers from people who had become disenfranchised by traditional Christianity.

When it came to leading his new followers, Smith behaved more like a gang leader than a shepherd of God. Anyone who spoke out against Smith’s false teachings was attacked with a vengeance. In one historic account, Smith hired two Mormons to kill a man who had been outspoken against his teachings. In another historic account, Smith claimed he had a vision from God that told him that “the redemption of Zion must come by power,” and so amassed an army of 200 Mormons to march on Independence, Missouri, where he was summarily routed. Smith’s army, called the Danites, was described as “a band of murderers whose vile misdeeds were later written in blood on the blackest pages of the history of Mormonism.” Because of their treasonous actions, Missouri Governor Lilburn W. Boggs ordered General Clark to treat the Mormons as enemies who “must be exterminated or driven from the state, if necessary, for the public good” for “their outrages are beyond description.” Porter Rockwell, chief of the Danites, was described as “a powerful man physically, with a mind of narrow perceptions, intense convictions, and utterly depraved motives,” who had been charged with close to one-hundred cold-blooded murders.

Polygamy and pedophilia also demonstrated Smith’s contempt for God’s moral law, especially Genesis 2:24 which defines marriage as being between one man and one woman for life. Smith claimed divine revelation to justify his acts of polygamy, having amassed a collection of some 33 known wives, some as young as 14 years old. This lurid behavior led the townsfolk of Kirtland, Ohio to tar and feather Joseph Smith and his friend, Sidney Rigdon. Polygamy so defined early Mormonism that Smith’s successor, Brigham Young, even went as far as blasphemously claiming Jesus Christ was a polygamist who had been married to Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus, as well as to Mary Magdalene.

Wherever Smith and his followers went they sowed discord and violence, even among themselves, eventually causing the Mormons to be forced out of Ohio, then Missouri, settling in Illinois, before later finally being pushed west into Utah. While in Illinois, Smith ordered his followers to burn down the Nauvoo Expositor newspaper for publishing the horrors of Mormon rule and practice. This act of arson led to Joseph Smith’s arrest. An angry mob stormed the jail where he was being held and shot Smith and his brother Hyrum. For supposedly being a divinely appointed prophet of God, Smith died like the criminal he was on June 27, 1844.

For all of his supposedly divine proclamations, Smith proved to be a lying, thieving, violent, sexually immoral miscreant who clearly did not live a life as the Apostle Paul preached, “worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10).

Smith’s Many False Prophecies

The LDS Church made the following admission concerning their founder’s personal claim of being a divinely appointed prophet of God:

By nearly three million persons in many lands, Joseph Smith is today held in remembrance as a Prophet of God. The virtues and achievements of his followers stand as a monument to his divine calling. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has its foundation in the revelations he received, the sacred truths he taught, and the authority of the priesthood restored through him.

Within this foundational LDS statement lies Mormonism’s “Achilles’ heel” in that the authority of the Mormon priesthood and the validity of their doctrines rest entirely on Joseph Smith’s claim to be an inspired prophet of God. That means that should Smith have ever pronounced any prophecy that turned out to be false, he would end up violating Moses’ litmus test of 100% accuracy in determining whether a message had been truly spoken by the Lord or not (Deuteronomy 18:21-22). Mormonism’s own Articles of Faith admits to as much stating, “If his [Smith’s] claims to divine appointment be false, forming as they do the foundation of the Church… the superstructure cannot be stable.” Cold Case Christianity author J. Warner Wallace proves the superstructure to indeed be very unstable by providing just a few of the many false prophecies made by Joseph Smith which prove that he had indeed failed Moses’ test:

1. Joseph Smith made open-dated prophecies, such as when he predicted in 1835 that, “The coming of the Lord, which was nigh — even fifty-six years should wind up the scene” (History of the Church, Vol. 2, 182).

2. He made several self-fulfilling prophecies, such as when he claimed the Lord instructed him not to translate any more until he had arrived in Ohio. (D&C 37:1).

3. Smith made conditional prophecies, such as when he stated that if the people of Ohio repented they would not be severely judged by the Lord (D&C 40:16-18).

4. Smith even went as far as to make close-dated, unconditional prophecies, such as when in 1832 he prophesied that an LDS temple would be built in Independence, Missouri within his generation. Almost 200 years later, no temple has ever been built, especially during Smith’s generation, forcing the LDS leadership to admit this prophecy never came true. (D&C Section 84).

5. Smith also made several fanciful prophecies, such as when in 1837 he proclaimed that the Lord had told him that the moon was inhabited by men and women who looked like the people of the earth, that they lived up to a thousand years old, stood nearly six feet tall, and dressed uniformly like Quakers (The Oliver B. Huntington Journal, 1881).

Conclusion

It takes little effort to prove that Joseph Smith’s claim to being a divinely called prophet of God was fraudulent. First, Smith’s own ungodly and immoral character would cause even the most ardent hedonist to blush. Second, his failed prophecies fall well short of Moses’ test in determining a false prophet.

Many more pieces of evidence could be presented that discredit Mormonism. For example, Smith obviously plagiarized the Book of Mormon from other sources such as the Bible as well as a novel written earlier by a minister named Solomon Spaulding. Some 3,000 “revisions” were made to Joseph Smith’s writings by the LDS church over the subsequent decades. The many historic and linguistic claims Smith made were in time proven to be utterly fictitious, if not ludicrous. The evidences go on and on. Such plentiful arguments should cause Mormons to express serious doubts as to the legitimacy of their false religion and so stop them from walking blindly down the steps leading away from God.

As Evangelical Christians, we must reach out to Mormons in love while armed with the sword of the Word and these facts which prove Joseph Smith was a fraud.

In doing so, we confirm that Mormonism cannot be a valid expression of Christianity but rather remains as another wide road that lures lost souls to eternal separation from God in a place of torment.

He is God - Nathele Graham - twotug@embarqmail.com

“It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: if we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us” 2 Timothy 2:11-12.

Jesus Christ is God. That is a fact and is not debatable. Many people have the wrong idea that Jesus was a created being like the angels. Some believe that Lucifer and Jesus were brothers. I can hardly type that because it’s so filled with blasphemy. Jesus was the Creator, but Satan was created. The Apostle John makes it very clear that Jesus was God incarnate. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:1-5.

As one of the first followers, John had spent three years learning directly from Jesus. John watched as Jesus healed the blind, the lame, and even brought some back from the dead. The Greek word translated “Word” is “logos”, and is used by the Apostle John as a descriptive title of Jesus. John states that not only was Jesus (the Word) in the beginning “with God” but that He “was God”. Of course, that harkens back to Genesis “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1. The creation account tells us that God spoke things into existence. Don’t be confused by man-made ideas, but place your faith in the truth of God found in Scripture. The Apostle John goes on to say “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.

It’s been said that mercy is not getting what we deserve. For instance, our sin is so great that we deserve eternal death. Still, by God’s mercy, our faith in Jesus Christ will bring eternal life instead of what we deserve. Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Without the grace of God, nobody could be worthy to be saved from eternal death. I know that I’m not worthy through any effort of my own. Thank God for His mercy and grace through the blood of Jesus…The Word made flesh.

It's very important to understand that Jesus was fully human and fully God. If you don’t believe that, then you must believe that human sacrifice is condoned by God and can take away sin. Wrong. Jesus had to be human in order to be a kinsman to humanity. Remember, Jewish Law teaches us about our relationship with God. In Leviticus chapter 25 we learn about the need for a kinsman redeemer. If a man had to sell his property, a near relative (kinsman) could redeem what was lost. The book of Ruth is all about the kinsman redeemer; an Old Testament foreshadowing of Jesus Christ, our Kinsman Redeemer. Mankind’s inheritance was forfeited by Adam. God had been very clear that Adam and Eve could eat from every tree in the Garden of Eden except from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17.

This command was given to Adam prior to Eve being created. Eve talked with the serpent, ate the fruit, and convinced Adam to eat. They didn’t become like gods, as the serpent said, but they did die. God is always Truth, and Satan is always lies. Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden and separated from God. Eternal separation from God has been a curse of mankind ever since. God put animal sacrifices in place in order to cover sin, but only the blood of a kinsman to Adam, a human, could redeem mankind. That’s why Mary was merely a human. She was not deity so should never be worshiped. Yes, we can admire her, but never pray to her nor worship her. God never condones human sacrifice. We are to sacrifice our will to His, but never offer a human blood sacrifice. The animal sacrifices were only a temporary covering of sin. “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.” Hebrews 10:4.

Where does that leave us today? There is no temple in order for a Jewish priest to properly offer animal sacrifices, which were only temporary sin-coverings. Today we have a perfect sacrifice…the blood of Jesus. Jesus wasn’t just a human. He was God. His blood was not tainted by Adam’s sin. Today, science tells us that genetic traits are passed from father to son. Jesus had an adopted father on earth, but His true father was the third person of the Trinity… the Holy Spirit. When the angel came to Mary saying she had been chosen to give birth to the Messiah, she had no idea how that could happen since she was a virgin. “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35. Wow. Jesus was our Kinsman because Mary was human, but His blood wasn’t tainted by sin because He had no human father. He was fully human and also fully God.

The Apostle Peter was among those first followers of Jesus. He was a fisherman, but his life was changed because of Jesus. Peter had a lot to say about Christ. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:1-5.

Peter understood more about the truth of God than most Christians today. He knew that being born again was the way to eternal life. “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abid3th for ever.” 1 Peter 1:22-23. This is the same truth that Jesus spoke to Nicodemus. “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:5-6.

Jesus was God and we must be born again of the Spirit in order to be a part of His family. You must be a part of His family in order for Him to be your Kinsman Redeemer. If you choose to reject Jesus for salvation, you have made your choice to remain dead in the curse of the original sin that Adam brought upon all of humanity. The gift of salvation is precious, and if you claim to have accepted Christ’s sacrifice for salvation, then your eternity is secure. If you have any doubts, or don’t understand what salvation through Christ is, then you need to talk with a Christian who understands. Your sin condemns you, not God. True faith justifies you. You will never be perfect, but God sees you through the shed blood of Christ. Don’t think that you can be justified by any human. Going to a priest, or a pastor to be declared free from sin is ridiculous. Only God can declare you justified. “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God who also maketh intercession for us.” Romans 8:32-34. Don’t place faith in any man or acts of man. Your eternal life depends upon your faith in Jesus, not humans. Only Jesus is God. Only Jesus can save.

There is no Temple in Jerusalem on which sacrifices can be made, but there is still a Temple. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16. There’s no sacrifice that can take away sin, other than the one Christ made for you. The Holy Spirit is sealed within every Christian, and He will guide our thoughts and actions. We will always have a sin nature, but we individually need to sacrifice our self-will to God. The Holy Spirit will never guide you into sin. This is the sanctification process. Failing in our walk isn’t failing to receive eternal life. We need to ask God to forgive us when we sin, and then we need to turn away from that sin. We need to turn loose of the idols of our sinful nature. “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16. Idols are anything we put before God, such as a car, money, or yourself. Only Jesus is God, and is to be worshipped.

The most important thing you can do right now is to be sure that you’ve placed your life and faith in Jesus. If you have, then live for Him. Share that faith with family and friends. Use Scripture as your guide. John the Baptist called the nation of Israel to repent and proclaimed the Messiah. “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Matthew 3:1-3.

Jesus called twelve men to follow Him and learn how to spread the Good News. Those men knew He was God. One day Jesus asked the disciples who people said He was. They said the people thought he was a prophet, or John the Baptist. Still today there are many ideas about Jesus. Some say He was a kind and gentle man; some say He was a great teacher, and some say He was the brother of Lucifer or Michael. Some even think He is an alien left here to enlighten us. Scripture reveals the truth. After His general question, Jesus asked them who they personally said He was. “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16.

Peter had the right answer. What about you? Do you sit in a congregation that thinks Jesus is a created being who is the brother of Satan? Or maybe you’re in a congregation that thinks the man in the pulpit can forgive sin. Who do you say Jesus was…who Jesus is? Many pastors forget to teach the pure truth of the Gospel. They forget that Jesus is God, or don’t think it’s an important part of the Gospel.

The same Jesus who shed His blood on the cross and conquered death for all who believe, will come again one day soon. At His second coming He will be at war with His enemies. “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14.

The war will be with those who have rejected Christ and chosen to follow the Beast. At least seven years before this final battle, all Christians will be taken Home to Heaven in the Rapture. The only way to avoid God’s judgment is to choose for yourself to accept God’s free gift of salvation. Follow Jesus, not the world. “Behold I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.

We don’t know when this will happen, but we can rest assured that it will happen before the final seven years of life on earth. Because Jesus is God, He will take all believers Home before Judgment is poured out upon those who remain and follow the Satanic leader. If Jesus wasn’t God, this wouldn’t be possible.

If you’ve put your faith in a human, you need to correct that thinking before it’s too late. Even if the Rapture is many years away, you need to be sure you’re clear that Jesus is God before you die. That isn’t a side issue. We are all only a heartbeat away from entering eternity with no second chances. Jesus is your only salvation.

God bless you all,

Daily Jot: The COVID crime - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com

Dr James Lyons-Weiler, an American scientist discredited by big pharma and the government, is adding his voice to what many of us reporting on COVID have been considering. Lyons-Weiler writes on his substack, “Hospital protocolists sticking to the strict hand-me-down highly profitable “COVID protocol” may have doomed a majority of admitted COVID-19 patients to death due to a perfect storm of institutional failure.” He cites a National Institutes of Health study that found “unresolved respiratory infections–not necessarily those involved in SARS-CoV-2–were present in people who failed to “respond” to mechanical ventilation.” The government-big pharma-media conglomerate COVID handling may be the crime of the century.

Lyons-Weiler states: “The study leads to the stunning potential that perhaps 58% of “COVID” cases were respiratory issues other than COVID (43% bacterial pneumonia, 16% non-pathogen causes of respiratory failure). Treated as “COVID”, these patients were doomed to a fate of non-treatment due to mis- or under-diagnosis. It is unclear what percentage of deaths attributed to COVID-19 could have been prevented via a standard therapy for bacterial pneumonia, but it is potentially very high. [Dr. Anthony] Fauci’s prescription–sending patients home to do nothing… drove the COVID-19 death rate up far higher than it had to be.” Indeed, the death rate between vaccinated and unvaccinated was likely negligible.

Researchers in Denmark and The Netherlands concluded that “The two major RCTs [Randomized Clinical Trials] of mRNA vaccines, produced by Pfizer and Moderna, included 74,193 adults (>16 or >18 years of age) (37,110 vaccinated; 37,083 placebo), among whom there were 61 deaths (31 vaccine recipients, 30 placebo recipients). These vaccines were not associated with lower overall mortality.” The Johnson and Johnson vaccine, which was not an mRNA shot, was found to lower mortality, but at a higher risk of myocarditis and pericarditis. But all four COVID shots increased the risk of heart inflammation and blood clots. The Centers for Disease Control announced May 10 without comment that the Johnson and Johnson shot was no longer available in the US. Sadly, all signs point to total mismanagement and failure to save lives.

Naturopath Doctor Colleen Huber, in an analysis for the Epoch Times, wrote: “mortality for 2020 (the year of COVID-19 virulence) was less than for 2021 (the year of the COVID-19 vaccine), which was 3,464,000. The 2020 mortality number remained at about one percent of the total U.S. population.” One percent of those who were suspected of having COVID died. The majority could have died because hospitals were incentivized by the CDC for up to $100,00 per patient to vaccinate, test, diagnose, admit, use add-on treatments such as remdesivir and ventilators (both having mortality rates over 50%), and report COVID 19-related deaths. John 11:35, the shortest verse in the Bible, says “Jesus wept” over the death of his friend Lazarus. Likewise, we all should weep over this COVID crime of the century and never allow it to occur again.

Daily Devotion: Wired to Know God - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org

"Everything is meaningless," says the Teacher, "completely meaningless!"

—Ecclesiastes 1:2

https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/wired-to-know-god/ - Listen

Solomon had tried it all. He was the hedonist extraordinaire, seeking pleasure at all costs. He went on unbelievable drinking binges and chased after women like there was no tomorrow.

At the same time, he was highly educated. An architectural genius, he masterminded the building of incredible structures. And by today’s standards, he was worth billions of dollars. Yet Solomon asked the same questions that many people are asking today.

Solomon wrote the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes, and the first few verses introduce its theme: “These are the words of the Teacher, King David’s son, who ruled in Jerusalem. ‘Everything is meaningless,’ says the Teacher, ‘completely meaningless!’ What do people get for all their hard work under the sun?” (1:1–3 NLT).

Right away we know the writer is Solomon because he identified himself as “King David’s son.” Solomon was raised in a godly home. And though David’s sins were infamous, the Bible also describes him as a man after God’s own heart (see 1 Samuel 13:14).

Despite his failures, David indeed was a man of God, and he wanted his son to walk with the Lord. Yet Solomon, like many young people, went on a search for himself. He went on a quest for the meaning of life.

However, we don’t have to wait for the last chapter of Solomon’s book to find out what his answer was. He brought it front and center in the beginning and went on to explain why and how he came to his conclusion.

In Ecclesiastes 1:2 he basically summed up what he discovered on his great search: “Everything is meaningless, . . . completely meaningless!”

The searcher is telling us there is nothing on this earth that will satisfy us completely. That is because God has designed us, has wired us, to know Him.
