WHAT IS IT?

BY Nathele Graham

The Israelites had finally had enough of captivity in Egypt. They had prospered when they first went to Egypt and over the years their population grew to the point that Pharaoh felt threatened by them and made their life miserable. As a last resort, they cried out to God. "And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage." Exodus 2:23. God should never be a last resort, but whenever we finally decide to call on Him He's always there. In fact, He anticipates our cry and has a solution already waiting. In this case His solution was Moses. Moses was born into the tribe of Levi, but was raised as an Egyptian. If you don't know the story you might want to read in Genesis how the captivity came about and in Exodus how God groomed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It should have been a fairly short journey from Egypt to the Promise Land, but a lack of faith in God's power kept them wandering in the wilderness for 40 years.

Their lack of faith began soon after they left Egypt. They came to the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army was right behind them. God had done many miracles in order to free them from bondage,  not the least of which was the blood of the lamb on their doorposts to protect them from death. Did they really think that He would forsake them at the Red Sea? He would perform yet another miracle by parting that sea so they could pass through it as if they were on dry land, but Pharaoh's army was drowned. God's miracle caused them to sing His praise. "Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him." Exodus 15:1-2. This song goes on praising God for what He had done for them. They weren't any different than us. When God does a great miracle our hearts soar and we sing His praises, but as soon as trouble comes our way we wonder why God has forsaken us.

They went from the miraculous place of the Red Sea and travelled three days without water and complained. There is no mention of them praising God or asking for His guidance during these three days, but by their own efforts they came to Marah, but the water there was bitter. They murmured against Moses who finally went to the Lord. "And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee." Exodus 15:25-26. Our life can become bitter and we blame God. When we don't keep His laws we bring disease upon ourselves, such as AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, or liver problems from alcoholism, drug related craziness, and a long list of other ailments caused by our own sinful doings. God showed Moses a tree that would make the bitter turn to sweet, but hasn't He done that for us too? We have the tree of Calvary...the cross upon which our Lord was crucified and gave His life so we might live. Never forget the blood of the Lamb of God that was shed in order to bring us out of the captivity of sin and death and into new life through Him. God is always faithful and He led the Israelites to an oasis. "And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters." Exodus 15:27. This rest was short, and so were their memories.

They left the comforts of Elim and where did they go next? "And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt." Exodus 16:1. The wilderness of Sin. This was a "place" not a "condition", but it is very symbolic of all people. Sin will always bring misery, and in that wilderness the Israelites became hungry. Instead of remembering the miracles, they murmured. "And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: and the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger." Exodus 16:2-3. They had forgotten the miserable conditions that caused them to cry out to God for deliverance. When things get rough we look back with selective memory to how wonderful the past was. When you're in pain from a hangover, do you remember how much fun the drunken party was? Or when the doctor says that you have AIDS do you think how bad God is because the wages of your sin is death? The Israelites had forgotten that meat and bread had been scarce in Egypt, and forgot the slavery. They blamed Moses, Aaron, and God for their troubles. Who do you blame?

As always, God provided. He gave them manna. Every morning it would be there and they were to gather only enough for that day. If they gathered extra it would rot. Except on the sixth day they were to gather twice the amount they needed, because the seventh day was a day of rest. "And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat." Exodus 16:15.  Manna. There's no big mystery about the definition; it means "What is it?". They hadn't seen it before, but by following God's instructions they had food every day for 40 years. We get a description of it later in Scripture. "And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium. And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil." Numbers 11:7-8. That doesn't really clear it up for me! I looked up the Hebrew word for "coriander" and it's defined as "a plant the seed of which resembles manna". Then I looked up "bdellium" and found it defined as "gum resin". Well, I still have to ask "What is it?". For the answer to that question, let's dig a little deeper.

The children of Israel had taken cattle with them when they left Egypt. In fact, Moses made this part of the negotiations with Pharaoh. "And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither." Exodus 10:25-26. They took their cattle to serve the Lord, not for food. Animal sacrifice had been established with Adam and Eve and was the reason that Abel's sacrificed lamb was respected by the Lord but Cain's offering of fruit of the ground was rejected. When the Israelites got hungry they murmured, but would have starved rather than eat the cattle. God would soon establish a very strong law that required animal sacrifices as a blood offering, so for now God provided the bread from Heaven for food.

The Israelites who followed Moses didn't fully understand the manna any more than the Jewish people who talked with Jesus understood who He was. "They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat." John 6:30-31. Some tried to understand who Jesus was, but their religion kept them blind. Like the children of Israel who escaped from slavery they kept murmuring and looking for signs. Jesus had just fed this crowd bread and fish through a miracle, but they still wanted signs. "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world." John 6:32-33.  The Law of religion and sacrifice could never save them, but the Bread of Life will always save.

Miracles and signs may get our attention, but to attain life everlasting we need the Bread of Life. That's what the people who had followed Jesus to Capernaum wanted. He had given them food for their stomachs, but now they wanted more. "Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."  John 6:34-35. He is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, the once for all sacrifice, the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:38-40. One would think that everyone who saw what Jesus did and heard what He said would immediately turn to Him for salvation, but that just isn't so. "The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven." John 6:41. They murmured in the wilderness, they murmured when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee, and they/we murmur today. This world is filled with people who are blind but in need of Manna to give them life.

The manna the Israelites ate tasted like oil. Is this also symbolic of something deeper? In scripture, oil quite often symbolizes the Holy Spirit. So, the LORD (the Father) sent Bread from Heaven (Jesus Christ) that tasted like oil (the Holy Spirit). The children of Israel complained about this miraculous gift from God, but it was available to them wherever they went for 40 years. The Lord's gift began in the wilderness of Sin and sustained them until they entered the Promised Land. Today we need the Bread of Heaven to save us from sin and sustain us until we reach Heaven.

Manna...what is it? Jesus Christ.

God bless you all,

THE WORLD IS IN CONVULSIONS

BY PASTOR MIKE TAYLOR

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken”. (Luke 21:25-26)

Has the environment become hostile to the world's population that we don't know what to expect next?
I know that the news channels are all talking about the hurricanes that we have just gone through, including Harvey and Irma with the greatest wind speeds and the size of the storm surpassing what has ever been recorded in modern weather forecasting.

I am saddened by the destruction that was leveled on the Texas gulf coast with 50+ inches of rain that flooded most everything in Houston and the surrounding areas. I noted that the hurricane with its winds and rain just stalled and unleashed massive amounts of prceipitation that is beyond my mind to comprehend that much rain.

Then came Irma that was just another onslaught to the gulf coast..Thankfully, she steered to the west of Florida and didn't ravage the highly populated areas of the Eastern Coast of Florida. And now we hear of new hurricanes brewing in the Atlantic...what in the world is going on? I'm sure most of us look at the weather and remember that the sun's total eclipse made this same path across the USA from Northwest to the Southeast and passed over the areas that these hurricanes have come from. Next we speak of fires out of control.

THE WORLD IS ON FIRE

I was reading how the southwest and all along the western part of the USA is burning millions of acres and spreading into Montana and up into our neighbor up north, Canada in unrelenting damage and destruction.  The Forest Service is reporting that 2017 is shaping up to be a worse than average fire year based on acres of federal, private and state land burned. So far, 5.6 million acres of land has burned this year, or 1.8 million acres more than the ten year average of 3.8 million acres burned by this time. Some states like Nevada are saying that 2017 is the worst fire season in 15 years, while Montana has already used up much of its firefighting budget, even as much of the state remains in drought conditions according to the US Drought Monitor. The state may have to tap into reserve and federal funding.

Speaking of our neighbor to the north, fires are also currently scorching Canada’s British Columbia. This is the province’s second worst fire season on record and NASA satellites have identified the conflagration from space. It’s unsurprising that the smoke is billowing over the border into nearby Seattle in Washington state which for much of last week was also under a heat advisory. On Thursday, the city hit a record breaking 94 degrees at the Seattle Tacoma airport. The regular high for the region at this time of year is 77 degrees. Between the heat and the fact that the region has been, according to US Drought Monitor is unnaturally dry that wildfires are knocking on their door is unsurprising.

Across the big pond of the Atlantic , if you load up the European Commission’s fire map, it looks like the end of the world, especially in Italy and Romania. So far, an area just slightly smaller than the state of Rhode Island has burned. The total is already roughly three times the normal amount of summer wildfires. Back in June, 60 people died over the course of one weekend in Portugal due to wildfires. Thirty people were killed when the fires reached roads on evacuation routes. And as the map makes clear, those fires don’t seem to be abating, in part because of the hotter, drier temperatures ...this has also spread to Russia and Siberia which an image NASA has managed to capture on satellite footage, along with large swathes of Brazil. Back in June, South Africa was ablaze, and in New Zealand in February (during their summer) the city of Christchurch called a state of emergency after a wildfire sent thousands running from their homes and destroyed homes, and killed a pilot. In January, Chile, for whom like New Zealand January is summer, battled a similar unusual number of wildfires due to a combination of drought and high temperatures. The world wants to blame this phenomenon on Climate Change and will take any change in climate to further the mantra of a global New World Order.

EARTHQUAKES COVER THE GLOBE

It was just in the news of another earthquake that hit Mexico City with 7.1 quake that struck near the town of Raboso in Puebla, approximately 76 miles southeast of Mexico City, at a depth of 35 miles. This USGS reading is preliminary, but Mexico’s National Seismological Service released similar numbers for the earthquake’s strength.
A USGS official told the Associated Press that Tuesday’s earthquake was not an aftershock of the disaster that struck near Chiapas on Sept. 8, due to the large distance between the two events. These earthquakes have spread all over the planet, along the ring of fire in the Pacific and has caused great Tsunami's, the like of the one that killed a quarter of a million people into Japan and Southeast Asia
According to a number of Christian writers and teachers (including this writer) on Bible prophecy, Jesus predicted in the Olivet Discourse that a pronounced increase in the frequency and intensity of earthquakes would occur just prior to His return to the earth. Many of the same writers and teachers claim that the decade of the 1990s and accelerating into the 21st Century, that we have experienced a pronounced increase in both the frequency and intensity of earthquakes as compared to the earlier decades of the twentieth century. This coincidence of Jesus' prophetic statement and recent seismic events is viewed by these writers and teachers as clear demonstration of the nearness of the return of Christ.

Earthquakes continue to increase in frequency and intensity, just as the Bible predicts for the last days before the return of Christ. History shows that the number of killer quakes remained fairly constant until the 1950s - averaging between two to four per decade. In the 1950s, there were nine. In the 1960s, there were 13. In the 1970s, there were 51. In the 1980s, there were 86. From 1990 through 1996, there have been more than 150 and in the last 10 years, we have witnessed an annual number of “great” earthquakes nearly tripling over the last decade, providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One.
Between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. That's an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America this week in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Jesus spoke of this time, that He called the beginning of sorrows:

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:6-8)

and Paul confirmed the time we live in Romans chp. 8:
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”(Romans 8:19-23)
Now let us cover the signs in the heavens, that men can't explain.

PLANET NIBIRU OR PLANET X

Not sure what to make of the reports about a planet entering our solar system called Planet X. How are we to interpret this?..So I went and did some digging into if this report of a rogue planet heading our way. Is it fact or fiction?

It has  been reported that NASA had issued a terrifying advisory about the trajectory of a a “rogue planet” known as “Nibiru” or “Planet X”, saying it would "intersect Earth’s orbit, with potentially disastrous consequences".
The report said: "NASA has known about the mystery planet for years, but declined to warn us … until now.
"Finally, after the announcement of “Planet Nine” in January, conspiracy theorists have proved to the skeptics that they have been right this entire time, and NASA finally has to admit its wrongs.
"The planet, according to Caltech researchers, has a mass about ten times that of Earth and takes about 15,000 years to make a full orbit around the sun – And it’s heading towards Earth."
The online detective called Snopes has debunked this report, but Snopes has also been debunked as being run by a married couple in their home. The urban legend-busting Snopes.com and its proprietors, Barbara and David Mikkelson, who started the site in 1995 and still run it. They’re accused of hiding their identities, doing shoddy research, producing articles with a liberal bent and bash anything that speaks of conservative principles. . So personally, I discount their opinions as being less than objective, but back to the question at hand.
The report on this Planet X, is extremely convincing and even claims to quote NASA spokesperson Heather Cartwright as saying: "Although our scientists at NASA have emphasised for years that Nibiru doesn’t exist, we are ready to reveal the fact that it does exist.
The truth is we have been tracking the object for at least a decade and it is definitely headed towards planet Earth.
"However, we are expecting a close flyby – not the doomsday collision that Caltech researchers are predicting. There is no need to cause mass panic.”
The report went on to say Caltech scientists were at odds with NASA over the threat.
We are not sure what to make of these reports, but we know that this planet will NOT be destroyed, as Jesus will come and rule from Jerusalem and return this planet to its Garden of Eden environment during His 1000 year reign. But I do recall what John wrote in Revelation.
8 “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” (Revelation 8:8-11)

All these environmental disasters are the run-up to the coming Tribulation, where the seals of the wrath of God are opened in sequence. The earth is groaning and waits for its own redemption, as Paul mentioned in Romans 8. Mankind has abused the earth to such an extent, it would not be beyond imaginations to say that nature is rebelling and attempting to vomit out the pollution along with the polluters that are destroying the environment. But speaking of a mountain that falls into the sea, a asteroid burning with sulfur and iron would make much of the world uninhabitable. All this takes place in the coming Tribulation, so if there is a link between this Planet X/Nibiru, then it could be used by God to bring further judgement on this earth. God is control of every celestrial body, star or planet in the universe, so He will bring judgment according to His Word.
WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?
If we take the signs in the heavens, the stars, the sun, and the moon, we have had an abundance of what I feel, God is trying to get our attention. Let us recount what has happened in the last 30 years:
-increase in earthquakes that grows in number each year to disastrous results.
-increase in volcanic activity that has awakened mountains after years of sleep.
-increase in whole species of animals dying mysteriously-
-blood moons that appeared on God's Feast Days two years in a row
-total eclipses that spell judgement coming on the Gentiles by interpretation.
-increase in weather patterns of hurricanes and Tsunamis from earthquakes
-celestial signs in the heavens of the Revelation 12 signs that may or may not be something happening this September 23rd.
-push for a New World Order on the false concept of Climate Change-
-Sustainable Development and Agenda 2030 being pushed by the U.N. To monitor every man and woman on the planet.
-lawlessness in our streets, worldwide. Terrorism that grows unabated
-Muslim invasion of Europe and immigration grown out of hand in the USA.
-the world in near economic collapse, and debt beyond an ability to pay back.
-abortion on demand and the demise of 70 million babies in the USA alone..with many more worldwide
-Homosexuality on the order of Sodom and Gommarrah, same sex marriage ruled Constitutional and the abomination written in Romans 1 taking grip of our planet.

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
I am no prophet, but even a observant person who believes in the True God of Heaven, knows that this world cannot continue in this direction for an undetermined amount of time. God is longsuffering and not willing that any should perish.
9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2nd Peter 3:9-10)
Even our God who is longsuffering, has patience that runs out. He gave the Canaanites 400 years to come to repentance and turn from their wicked ways, then He commanded that they be destroyed, every man, woman and child. Israel was given this command. The world has been moving to higher levels of evil that wax and waned in times past, but the 20th Century after WW2 into our “modern” era has seen an exponential increase in lawlessness, Godlessness, and wickedness that God will judge but will give man one last chance during the coming 7 years of Jacob's trouble.
We have discussed that Satan will be given a free reign over this earth to do whatever evil he wishes to impose on mankind. It will be the final judgment of Satan that God will bring judgment on the fallen ark angel called Lucifer before he fell and became the “adversary” called Satan. When will this happen?
The only Power that has held Satan in check, is God's Holy Spirit, which resides in every truly born again believer who has received a deposit of God's promise of future glorification.
“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” (2nd Thessalonians 2:1-9)

Many have tried to hypothesize who the “He” is in the verses above. It's a personal pronoun and denotes a Person, not an angel or any other created being, but God's Spirit who is the only Power that is doing the withholding.

WILL JESUS COME SOON?
The question everyone on the internet is asking, “will Jesus come this weekend?”...many have proposed that the sign of Revelation 12 and the total eclipse August the 21st was a super sign of the coming of our Lord...Not so fast. Jesus said that no one would know.

33 "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (Matthew 24:33-39)
We have discussed that Jesus was referring to a coming “Feast of Trumpets” by the idiom of speech that each Jewish man would have recognized, BUT...we don't know which year that will be. But we know that the signs are all around us, and the signs on earth and in the heavens are screaming His soon return. You feel it, I feel it, and the secular world knows that something has got to give and sense something big is about to happen. Now this 23rd of September could be another sign that the end is close, right at the door. Also, noting that we have ended the 70 years generation of those who were alive when Israel was made a nation. But I will not predict, nor should anyone that Jesus is coming this Saturday. We can pray, we can hope, and we can watch as I will be watching and listening on that day for a trumpet sound, but if it doesn't come, I won't become depressed, as God has His plan and it is right on time. I just have to stay faithful and keep working for Him, until He actually sends Jesus to claim what He bought with His own blood 2000 years ago on a roman cross. He has ascended to the Father in Heaven and sits at His right hand, and waiting for the signal to “go get my children”...
WILL YOU BE READY?
No matter when that trumpet sound breaks the atmosphere and Jesus calls with a sound of a trumpet “come up hither”, will you be ready? Will you be found with faith in God and His plan for mankind. Clothed with the rightousness of His Son?
Make no mistake about it, friend, Jesus is coming...and He will come when the world least expects Him. That is why I'm a little skeptical that it will be this Saturday, because the hype is saying Jesus is coming....but what did Paul write ?
5 "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1st Thessalonians 5:1-5)

This Saturday, Jesus could come, but to the world, He will come as a thief...to those of us who are looking at the signs and know that His return is imminent, we will be watching, waiting, and in prayer. But the point is, no one knows, no one alive that is. But my warning to all who read this message, “Be Ready”. You ask, “how do I get ready”...easy. Two sets of verses that even a small child can grasp.
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)
Belief in the only Begotten Son of God in your heart, in your mind, in your life, and then express that belief with your mouth to others of your belief.
8 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” (Romans 10:8-11)
The world is in convulsions. The environment is turning deadly. The heavens and the earth is being shaken, but not to the extent that God will shake this Creation when He comes to bring judgment on this fallen earth. You don't want to be here. I won't be, WILL YOU?
14 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1st Thessalonians 4:14-18)

This is Pastor Mike Taylor, praying you will be ready to meet Jesus in the air. It could come this weekend, or in the near future. Just be ready. If you need prayer, counseling, or just a listening ear, email me at realteam1999@sbcglobal.net,  God bless you all,

THE WORLD THAT WAS

by Peter Garcia

In early 1914, though, it seemed almost impossible that Britain and France would go to war with Germany to defend Russia against Austria-Hungary over a dispute with Serbia. Yet by June 28, war moved straight from impossible to inevitable - without ever passing through improbable. Four years later, 10 million people had died. (From World War One: First war was impossible, then inevitable; Anatole Kaletsky)

Although I've used this quote in the past, I've found myself drawn to it again due to its precise accuracy describing the seemingly incredible and often unpredictable nature of geopolitics. Prior to World War I, who would have believed it? Yet after it was over, the warning signs of impending trouble were so obvious that most couldn't believe they had missed it. Although unforeseen, the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand became the right crisis at the right time by the old powers to set the world afire. World War I itself then became a forcing function by which the old world still attempted to stubbornly cling to the dying vestiges of the world as it was. But change came nonetheless and no one could stop it.

Juxtaposed to the seemingly unpredictable (and unbelievable) nature of global geopolitics, is the inevitable march towards a future, one-world system. We can see early efforts for this in moves like the League of Nations and later, the United Nations (UN). The UN, along with its cornucopia of bureaucratic offshoots, continue to try to gain global influence and power through treaty and peer pressure. What it lacks at present is a military force capable of enforcing either of these.

Furthermore, the combined globalist efforts in the financial, informational, and military sectors are solely concentrating on consolidating more and more power into fewer and fewer hands. These globalist advancements are only made possible by the snowball-effect of the technological advancements in the 20th century. In fact, so much innovation has transpired over the past century alone, has all but eclipsed the progress of the previous six thousand years of human history combined. Unfortunately, our dependence on modern technology has all but ensured that a centralized power controlling everyone and everything is nothing more than a foregone conclusion.

When asked about the last days, Jesus told His disciples that the end of the age would be recognizable because of the many signs those days would present themselves. Although these signs in and of themselves were not unique (as signs are meant to point to something further down the road), what would be unique was the manner of their manifestation. Jesus likened these signs to 'birth pangs' a woman goes through leading up to the birth of a child. In pregnancy, the first and second trimesters have few (if any) contractions (pangs). But as a woman enters into the third (final) trimester, the pangs first come sporadically but soon come in rapid-fire regularity finally reaching a crescendo both in frequency and intensity to the point where the child is coming and she must seek immediate care for delivery. So too would the generation that enters into this final "trimester" of human history be witness to the delivery of 'the child.'

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:20-23

Assessment

Just as Rome's founding was many centuries before it became a world power, the same is true for the United States. The US was founded in 1776 but did not become a world power until the end of World War II. For a brief period following WWII, the US remained the world's lone super-power. It was here in this tiny window of time, that she became instrumental in providing the global and political clout the newly formed nation of Israel would need to survive as an island of democracy in a sea of tumultuous Islamic theocracies.

But like everything else, the world's corruptive and persistent influence has/is forcing the United States to concede to its demand to divide Israel. This is primarily due to our dependence on oil from said Islamic theocracies. Inevitably, our betrayal equates to a "ratcheting-up" of seemingly insolvable problems due to the Abrahamic Covenant effect, which God both promises and warns that I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. We view this covenant in a global sense, (since God was speaking to the nation who would come from Abraham) as the prophetic fulfillment we know simply as the convergence. In other words, the more the world turns against Israel, the more problems the world is going to have.

"For behold, in those days and at that time,
When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.                                                                                Joel 3:1-2

The convergence then is simply the visible escalation and divine approval of natural calamities and man-caused problems since 1977. This was the year that the "land for peace" agenda began between Egypt, Israel, and the United States with the Camp David Accords. Since then, there has been an ever increasing series of tragic and horrific events overwhelming the entire world. For those watching, the rapid uptick has been startling. For the rest of the world, the normalcy bias has set in and the world has been lulled back to its slumber.

Presumably, Satan learned his lesson post-Calvary (1 Cor. 2:6-7) and now understands (Rev. 12:12) that his time is running out. The conflict we then see in the world is one in which the world that is currently controlled by Satan (Luke 4:5-6) is trying to stay the way it is, rather than allow God to press forward with His divine timeline. This then results in wars and rumors of wars, which inevitably allows for rapid innovation. Man's technological, financial, and political progress careens forward then because crisis demands action and solutions. In other words, Satan can't stop God's agenda no matter what he tries.

The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. Luke 16:16

So in the macro-sense, the world continues to press forward in all aspects, and the drama involving all its nation-states seems to be ever-fluid and unpredictable. The issues of death, eternity, the kingdom of God, heaven, hell, God, the angels, etc., all seem to be distant things no one wants to talk or even think about, yet it will not go away. Inarguably, there have been moments in time where mankind's mortality (in the collective sense) has been so shaken, that it unintentionally makes the world wake up, even if only for the briefest of moments. Such has been the case with 9/11 or the 2011 Japanese Tsunami. But even then, a little time passes and said-event passes into mankind's short-term memory.

Conclusion

The election of Donald J. Trump was in a sense, the last gasp of a free American people. Here is a man who by all accounts (at least according to every expert and think tank on the planet) should not have won the election. His election was as unthinkable and as impossible, as the scenario found in the start of World War I. Yet, win he did, and he did so with as Steve Bannon called it, the island of misfit toys team. It wasn't so much that he ran against the Democratic-socialist agenda, but against an entrenched establishment (the political class) who were nestled snuggly in the Washington D.C. swamplands.

For eight years, both Christians and conservatives had been force-fed the incessant mantra of the big three lies by the Obama administration. It was done with an intensity and zealotry that was shocking to anyone who had an ounce of common sense. For brevity's sake, the big three whoppers were: Man-made climate change, aggressive historical revision (whitewashing or rewriting historical facts), and that all cultures and religions are equal. It was piped through all the Sunday news shows and by all the academic panels with their "experts." These were they who all created the perfect echo chamber to make sure this message was beaten into our heads day after day.

By the time 2016 rolled around, the last vestiges of American common sense found itself electing a man who was so far removed from the mainstream political fray out of sense of rebellion against having to endure another four years of the democrat propaganda machine.

But elections have consequences and the lies that were pumped via airwaves and Wi-Fi for eight years have unfortunately stuck in Western culture. This has us Christians looking around the world today and finding ourselves increasingly at odds with the mainstream narrative. Even worse, is that the past eight years expedited the already growing rift within Christendom over the issues of gay marriage, transgenderism, abortion on demand, illegal immigration, cultural relativism, etc. On one side, there are more and more churches bending the knee to popular consensus. On the other, is the dwindling remnant of those who still hold to and believe in a Biblical world-view. Pretty soon, those not bending the knee to popular consensus will be as popular and numerous as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were on the plain of Dura (Daniel 3).

But are Christians today just as guilty as those in the Pre-WWI colonial world of the same type of wishful thinking? Do we believe that we can keep the world as it was by Making America Great Again? Like every other significant empire and nation who came before us, we too, shall watch the sun set on this great and final experiment in human governance.

The Bible does not predict any great Christian revival in the last days leading up to the Tribulation (i.e., the 70th Week of Daniel). America is far too diverse today to ever make that an eventuality. I don't mean ethnically diverse, but politically, religiously, and ideologically. Ten people in a room couldn't agree on where the moon was in relation to the earth. Furthermore, President Trump is finding out the hard way that the swamp doesn't want to be drained, and will do everything in its power to prevent it.

The same could be said for our brothers and sisters across the pond in Great Britain with BREXIT. I don't believe it ever will happen because the EU and British swamps can't let that happen. The world's brief flirtation again with nationalism and populism is going to be crushed under the boot-heel of the coming singular global system ran by the Antichrist.

My intent is not to be Mr. Doom and Gloom, but to simply make one point. The reason that the born-again Christian is finding themselves increasingly at odds with the world, is that the world is the swamp, and is in the process of giving itself over to a strong delusion. Just as there are increasing measures of birth-pangs, so too are the increasing stages of unrighteousness. These progress in as much as God gives nations them over to their own delusions and subsequent judgment (Romans 1:16-32; Jeremiah 30:7-11).

But God is not going to drain this swamp, He is going to purge it with judgment and fire before He makes the planet great again. But before He does any of that, He is going to remove His people (true born again believers) by way of the Harpazo (i.e., the catching up or the Rapture). Then the world will be forcibly cast headlong into the final week of years. So fellow believer, don't get too sentimental on the world as it is, or was, or what it's becoming. Because it is all about to change.

For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:16-17
