THE WEAPONS OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

BY Nathele Graham -

How do angels fight? Have you ever wondered about that? They're created beings and are immortal so arrows won't affect them. Some angels rebelled against their Creator and this rebellion is the root cause of the evil in the world today. God doesn't turn a blind eye to rebellious angels or to rebellious people. Though angels exist in a different dimension than the one we occupy they can cross into ours. Daniel saw an angel who told him that he had just done battle with the prince of Persia and would do battle with the prince of Greece. These princes are what Paul in the New Testament calls "principalities" and are an evil power that influences nations. When we read of the horrors that happen at the hands of Kim Jong-un you can be sure that he is under the influence of the evil power of the prince of North Korea. Still I wonder, how do angels fight. When Daniel describes the angelic being he saw, no weapon was mentioned. The weapons used must be of a different sort than we're familiar with. They must be spiritual in nature. The same is true for Christians. Our real battle is spiritual and must be fought with spiritual weapons. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12. Guns, tanks, and fighter jets won't help in this battle.

The influence of the demonic dimension can be felt and demons are sometimes seen in the physical realm in which we live. We must do everything we can to fight against this evil force and that means to arm yourself spiritually. Spiritual warfare needs spiritual weapons. "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:13. Just as we need weapons to protect and defend ourselves in the physical world, we need weapons to defend and protect ourselves in spiritual warfare. God hasn't left us defenseless but you must learn to use the weapons available for this fight. An army that isn't familiar with the weapons of war cannot win. Christian soldiers need to become familiar the each piece of the armor and learn how to use it properly.

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;" Ephesians 6:14. The first instruction is to stand. In a battle a soldier must be alert but if he kicks back and gets lazy the enemy has the advantage. So, Christian, stand and stay alert. Be sure your loins are girt with truth. A girt, or belt, will hold the weapons in place so be sure your weapons cling to truth. Don't be confused by propaganda spewed by the enemy. The only truth that's real is God's truth and if you dilute that you have no truth. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6. If you put man's ideas above God's truth then you've compromised your battle gear. Without truth what can you believe? Do you believe one plus one is two? Can someone convince you it's three? You need to be as certain of God's truth as you are of basic math. Next you need to guard your heart by putting on the breastplate of righteousness. Not your own righteousness, which is nothing more than filthy rags, but Christ's righteousness. How do we learn to use this breastplate of righteousness? As with every item listed in this armor of God, truth and righteousness are found in God's word. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" 2 Timothy 3:16. Study God's word and mold your life to fit His truth. Don't pick and choose the parts of Scripture you agree with, but correct your ideas to agree with God's truth.

What good is a soldier without proper shoes? When out on the battlefield you must be prepared to march so make sure you're prepared. "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" Ephesians 6:15. The Gospel of peace. Jesus paid a huge price for that Gospel and we need to share it. Isaiah prophesied of this Gospel "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" Isaiah 52:7. You won't be able to share the Gospel of peace if you aren't prepared. Study. That's how you prepare. People all over the world have questions about Jesus, but if you aren't certain of what you believe then how can you answer questions from other people?  "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear"  1 Peter 3:15. Whether you preach the Gospel of peace in Zion or in your own neighborhood, be prepared. A soldier's shoes need to be cared for and comfortable. If you aren't comfortable with the Gospel of Peace then get comfortable with it by studying. Then spread the Good News.

Is your faith in place? "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." Ephesians 6:16. Having faith in something means that you know it to be true and trust it. The fiery darts of the wicked are thoughts of doubt that Satan plants in our minds to break our faith. If a loved one is ill and you pray for healing but God's answer is to take that person Home, do you doubt God's existence or question His love? You might go to school and are being taught the lie of evolution and you begin to doubt the truth found in God's word. Satan has just hit you with a fiery dart. Solid faith will shield you from those darts of doubt. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews11:1. The shield of faith will protect you from doubt and protect you in times of testing.

Salvation is a free gift but it cost Jesus a huge price. He left Heaven to die on the cross to save sinners from eternal death. When we accept Christ's shed blood as the sacrifice for salvation we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and salvation cannot be lost. Our salvation should never be taken for granted nor should it be doubted. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:17. A helmet covers the head. That's where the brain is located and where thoughts originate. If you listen to the fiery darts from the wicked one you may begin to doubt your salvation and weaken your position in the battle. Keep that helmet of salvation securely in place and keep your thoughts on Jesus. Take your thoughts captive and gain victory over temptation and don't yield to sin. When you're tempted to sin, remember the price Jesus paid for your salvation and choose to follow Him rather than the way of the wicked. Every piece of this armor is for protection and defense. Only one piece is for active use against the enemy and that's the sword of the Spirit. Every word of the Bible in the original language is inspired by the Holy Spirit. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12. Don't stray from the truth of Scripture. If you begin to re-interpret God's word or "modernize" it to fit current sinful attitudes then you'll have a dull sword that's unfit for battle. The word of God is God's truth. Study God's word and let the Holy Spirit guide all your thoughts, words, and actions. Keep that sword in your hand and be ready to fight.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak." Ephesians 6:18-20. In battle it's important to communicate with the leader. A Christian's Commander in Chief is Jesus Christ. Prayer keeps us in touch with Him and helps us to follow Him more obediently. Paul also asked prayer for himself. He didn't ask that his battle scars be healed or that he could live more comfortably, but asked them to pray that he be more bold in his witness for Christ. "Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak." Colossians 4:3-4. If you have your armor in place and in good working condition then you can march boldly through doors which Christ has opened, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. Pray for open doors and boldness.

Think about the young David who found King Saul and his army hiding in the rocks and hills rather than fighting the giant Goliath. Saul's army had the weapons of war but were afraid to use them. These men who should have been ready to fight were afraid and their weapons were useless. Goliath hurled curses against God Almighty and David couldn't put up with that. He refused the carnal armor offered to him, but went to face Goliath armed with a slingshot and the armor of God. David won that battle. We can win our battles too if we put on the armor of God. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." 2 Corinthians 10:3-6.

Many people say that Paul was being guarded by Roman soldiers when he described the armor of  God. This may be true, but are we supposed to conform our life to a pagan guard? Jesus is our example. The prophet Isaiah described the coming Messiah. "For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a cloke." Isaiah 59:17. Follow Jesus and conform to His ways. No compromise and no wavering but be determined to follow our Leader. Christian soldiers, be armed for battle. Remember that soldiers are stronger when they troop together and the same is true for Christians. "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25. We need each other and joining with fellow Christians will help fight this spiritual battle. Fellowship needs to be more than a Sunday morning gathering.

The armor needs to be kept in good working order...the sword won't sharpen itself. We're told to put the armor on, but nowhere are we told to take it off. Keep your spiritual weapons ready for fighting spiritual warfare.

God bless you all,

THE HIDDEN DOCTRINE OF THE RAPTURE

BY JACK KELLEY

Over time I've received several questions along the line of the following one. "Why do you think that such an important occurrence as the rapture is spoken of so few times and why is it so "hidden" in scripture?"
It's true the rapture is not mentioned very often, at least not directly. In fact, the Greek word from which we get the whole rapture idea appears only 13 times in the New Testament and even then it comes to us in a roundabout way. The Greek word is harpazo and means to catch up or take by force. In most English translations of 1 Thes.4:17 it's rendered "caught up." The root from which it comes is haireo which means "to take for oneself." 1 Thes. 4:17 is the only place the word harpazo refers to the rapture of the Church.
On top of that, rapture is an English word that comes from the Latin translation of harpazo which is why you can't find it in your Bible. You would have to read 1 Thes. 4:17 in Latin to see it there. (It appears as rapiemur.) Many people don't realize that for the thousand years preceding the Reformation, the Latin Vulgate was the primary translation of the original Greek texts. It was the standard text longer than any other translation before or since.
Although the concept of the rapture appears throughout the Bible, it wasn't until about 20 years after the cross that it was described in any detail. This is how Paul could say he was revealing a secret (Listen, I tell you a mystery) when he described it in 1 Cor. 15: 51-53. Together with 1 Thes. 4:15-17 it was the first clear teaching of the rapture in the history of mankind. Only with the benefit of Paul's disclosure can you look back through the Bible and see the many hints of the rapture.
There was a good strategic reason to keep all this secret before the cross. Paul spoke of it in 1 Cor 2:7-8. Explaining that his message of wisdom was not taken from the wisdom of the world, he said,
No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Remember, Jesus called Satan the prince of this world (John 12:31, 14:30, 16:11). Paul thought of him as the god of this age (2 Cor. 4:4). And John said the whole world is under the control of the evil one (1 John 5:19). So Paul's reference to rulers of this age is not to the High Priest in Jerusalem or Caesar in Rome. He was saying that had Satan and his lackeys understood the extent of the blessings God had in mind for the Church, they would have done everything possible to prevent the crucifixion.
God's Secret Wisdom, Part 1
There are two facets to God's Secret wisdom where the Church is concerned. And as you'll see, both require absolute secrecy. The first is the manner in which the Church was brought into the world.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Colossians 2:13-15)
A quarter of a century after becoming a believer, I still can not adequately describe my initial reaction to hearing these verses. I had been in church all my life and had never been told such a thing. The bill of indictment for all the sins of my life, past, present, and future, was canceled at the cross. This rendered null and void any claim Satan ever had or ever would have against me. At the cross, he thought he had won by defeating God's only hope for the salvation of mankind. Instead, whoever chooses to do so can now receive a lifelong pardon for their sins that no one can ever revoke.
Let me explain here that this knowledge did not inspire me to go out and sin to my heart's content without any fear of consequences. Nor does it do so in any other true believer. Those who base their opposition to eternal security on the assumption that only the fear of loss will make us behave are missing the point. Besides, while it was our behavior that caused our sin problem, it's the Lord's behavior that cured us. All that's left for us is to believe and receive it.
No, what this did for me was to produce a knee-buckling realization that I could never be worthy of such a gift and created a determination in me to spend the rest of my life trying to live up to what I had already attained (Phil 3:20). In God's eyes, I was now perfect (Hebr. 10:14), a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17).  I had been adopted into His family (Gal 4:4-5) and guaranteed a place in His Kingdom (Ephes. 1:13-14). I wanted to make sure He didn't regret doing all that.
This guarantee of salvation is based entirely on our belief that Colossians 2:13-15 is true. It was such a radical departure from what God's enemies had come to expect of Him that they were caught totally off guard. Before the cross, forgiveness only covered past sins. As soon as a person sinned again after the Day of Atonement, he was right back in debt and Satan had a brand new claim to him. To set aside the penalty for his sins, innocent animals had to die in his place, but that didn't free him. It only gave him a temporary stay of execution (Hebr. 10:3).
But when Satan saw the lifelong lists of our sins being nailed to the cross right before his eyes, and heard Jesus say "Paid in full!" (John 19:30) he knew that what he thought was going to be his final victory had become his ultimate defeat.
Although with 20-20 hindsight we can look back into the Old Testament and see hints of what God was going to do in the Church, no one before the cross saw this. Not the Jews, certainly not the Gentiles, not even Satan. And instead of a nice orderly transition from Law to Grace, the clock for the Age of Law abruptly stopped seven years short of its previously announced duration (Daniel 9:24-27). Religious ceremonies the Jews had viewed as mandatory suddenly became meaningless. A culture steeped in religious law and practice was made obsolete, and would soon be dispersed. For the first and only time in history, the gates of heaven had been flung open to whosoever would enter, conditioned only on their belief that Jesus died for their sins and rose again (Romans 10:9).
God's Secret Wisdom, Part 2
The second facet of God's secret wisdom will be the way the Church is taken out of the world. At a time no one will be able to determine in advance, and without any prior warning, the Church will simply disappear off the face of the Earth forever, leaving the unbelieving world in utter chaos. Because the birth of the Church took Satan by surprise, the details surrounding the Church's departure have to be even more obscure. He's a quick study, after all, and has had 2000 years to review what little the Bible has to say about the Rapture. He wouldn't be so easily taken by surprise a second time.
Being a student of prophecy, He knows at least as much as we do about the End Times. (Please remember this. It isn't that Satan doesn't know God's plan, it's that he believes he can defeat God's plan.) He knows the rapture will precede the End Times judgments, will take place when the church reaches its full number, and that only God knows the number. But that's about it, so his only hope is to prevent the Church from reaching that number for as long as possible. Because he doesn't know what the number is, he's effectively kept off balance. If he knew when the church was leaving, he could plan some a counter attack. But since he doesn't, he's forced to remain reactive, unable to relax, never knowing when the whistle will blow and the game will be over. I think that's God's real purpose in keeping the rapture secret.
When God does take the Church out of the world, there will be another abrupt change as the Age of Law returns for its last seven years. Once again the focus will be on Israel. There will be a Temple with sacrifices and all the other associated ceremonies. Except for all the missing people, it will be as if the Church Age never happened. And please understand, even when the New Covenant comes to Israel, it won't be like it is in the Church. A Temple, animal sacrifice, required Holy days, and a Levitical Priesthood will continue into and throughout the Kingdom Age, or Millennium.
You see, it's clear that the Church Age was not intended to be the next step in the progression of God's plan, to supersede that which came before, and perhaps to be superseded by what comes after. It was a complete and radical departure from the norm and once completed it will never be repeated. Having known nothing but the Church Age, we don't appreciate how unique we are. But as Paul wrote, people in ages yet to come will study the Church to learn the extent of the incomparable riches of God's grace (Ephes. 2:7).
Here, There, Or In The Air
To underscore the Church's uniqueness, its departure will have to be even more dramatic, even more cloaked in mystery than its arrival was. Soon and very soon, on a day that no one could have predicted in advance, believers will hear a loud command, "Come up here!" (Rev. 4:1), accompanied by the trumpet of God. Immediately the spirits of dead believers will receive new resurrection bodies, and the living will be transformed from mortal to immortal. Together we will meet the Lord "in the air" having disappeared from Earth in the twinkling of an eye (1 Thes. 4:16-17, 1 Cor. 15:51-53) and then we'll proceed to His Father's house (John 14:2-3).
This has always intrigued me. The Greek word for air refers to that space between Heaven and Earth called its atmosphere. So we're not immediately going to Heaven, nor is the Lord coming all the way to Earth, as He will in the 2nd Coming. Instead, the meeting will take place in the atmosphere.
The atmosphere was created on the 2nd day when God made an expanse to separate the water under it (the sea) from the water above it (the water vapor canopy that surrounded the Earth until the flood.) He called it the sky or firmament (Genesis 1:8). Unlike all other creation days, the 2nd day was not pronounced good. Some scholars speculate this is because demonic spirits immediately inhabited it. This may be why Paul also referred to Satan as the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Ephesians 2:2).
If this is the case, then it means the Lord is going to shock Satan again, this time by suddenly assembling the raptured Church in his front yard without any warning. Each list of sins that Satan saw nailed to the cross 2000 years ago will be represented by one deliriously happy redeemed believer in a final grand display of victory before we fly off to our mansions in the sky. Talk about a dramatic ending for the Age of the Church. What a day that will be. Now do you see why its exact timing has to be kept secret?  We wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.  You can almost hear the footsteps of the Messiah.

I WILL KEEP THEE FROM THE HOUR OF TEMPTATION

By Pastor Mike Taylor

8” But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1st Corinthians 5:8-10)

9 “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” (1st Thessalonians 1:9-10)

The above passages has been used many, many times to support the doctrine of a HARPAZO, or the redemption of the Church when Jesus comes for His own before the Tribulation starts. It is popularly called the RAPTURE. This doctrine has been in existence since the 1st century, but was forgotten because of the rising of a Gnostic church in the Middle Ages, that hid those facts from the people, due to its lust for power on earth. It was not again revealed and re-discovered until the 18th century, and was designed by God for the End of Age, the age we live in right now.

SOME MOCK THAT THE RAPTURE IS AN ESCAPE HATCH

Some take issue with that concept, saying “are we any better than the apostles, or the untold amount of men down through the ages that suffered persecution?” They are referring to the coming Tribulation and why are we exempt from this time? Their mocking of the rapture as being an escape hatch from persecution, but fail to understand that the removal of the church is not an escape but a fulfillment of the promises of God and we have VICTORY IN JESUS over this sinful world.
The answer to that question they propose of course is no, we are not better than than those who have suffered persecution from mortal men, but in these last days of the government of men over their own affairs, God has promised us something they did not have. We are separated from the coming wrath of God by time and space. That is the difference between them and us. Down through the ages, there have always been men who would bring harm and even death to other men over religious beliefs. Men have always persecuted other men, and that doesn't mean we won't see some form of persecution before Jesus comes, but we keep our faith that Jesus will protect His own, based on the clear meanings of Psalms 91, which I proclaim to all who are His own.

TIME WHEN MEN PERSECUTED THOSE WHO WOULD NOT BOW

I am reminded of the Dark Ages, when a ruling theocracy slaughtered untold amount of people for the quest and lust for power over other men, and destroyed all who would not bend the knee to its rule. But down through the ages, you cannot find, or point to in the Bible an instance where those who follow after our God, our Lord and Savior, have experienced the wrath of the Almighty falling on their heads. Many Biblical stories chronicle how God has a Divine habit of removing His chosen people out of the way, when His wrath against rebellious mankind falls on them.

Speaking of the Dark Ages, this same church came up with a blasphemous doctrine that all who die must pass through a “temporary” state of punishment in fire to rid them of unforgiven sins. They called it venial sins. If Jesus did not die for the whole earth, and those who believe in Him are not cleansed TOTALLY from past, present and future sins, then to pass through the wrath of God during the Tribulation is akin to this hideous doctrine of purgatory, that the blood of Jesus just wasn't quite able to save a man totally from His sins. Which any truly washed in the blood of Calvary Christian knows is not true. But let's return to the stories of the Bible that speaks of this removal from God's wrath.

SHORT EXAMPLES OF REMOVAL FROM GOD'S WRATH

Some of the more obvious aspects of that fact are the children of Israel during the Egyptian enslavement and the plague after plague brought about to the rebellious Pharoah who defied God and His commands and wouldn't let God's people go. These plagues were isolated to Egypt and never came close to the land of Goshen, where the Hebrew slaves were living.

Then there is Noah and Lot, who both were removed from the wrath of God, one by an ark, the other fleeing to the mountains before the angels of God were sent to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Springing off these well know Biblical stories, I find no account where God has subjected His people to His own righteous wrath. Can you? Some will say that they went through, not out of the wrath of God, but are they missing something? I think they are.

But let us explore briefly what the Bible says we can expect as this Age of Grace draws to a close. There are many verses scattered about that supports that when God's wrath falls upon this planet, the Church of the Living God will not be present.

EXPLAINING THE CONCEPT TO A FRIEND

I was having a conversation with an online friend, who was an admitted post-tribulation believer, and as we conversed back and forth, I brought up a well know verse found in your Bible:

10 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” (Revelation 3:10-11)

Here our Risen Lord speaks to the apostle John and tells him, that because those who have kept His Word and followed His commands, our Lord promises us that we will be kept from this hour of temptation. Our God and Savior gave us commands to follow, and a way back to God our Father and He is the only Way.

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man cometh to the Father, but by me.”
(John 14:6)

In speaking with my online friend, who is a student of the Hebrew and Greek translations concerning Bible text, I pointed out to him that the original Greek shows that this passage speaks of the Church being taken out of, not through the tribulation.

Many people debate this verse and make assumptions that like Lot and Noah, or even the Hebrew slaves in Egypt, that they were brought through the wrath of God. But even my friend didn't realize that there is one word in the Greek that is in this passage and changes the whole meaning of the passage, and he had read it many times, and passed right over it. The passage that tells us “I also will keep thee from the hour of Temptation”, that the words “I will keep thee” in the original Greek centers on the Greek word (εκ [ek] ) that here denotes out of  not through the wrath of God. My friend was flabberghasted, that the original Greek spoke that the Church is taken “out of” the coming wrath of God that falls on the whole world. I believe I changed his mind, as he confessed it as so.

We continued our discussion as I told him that even in the Old Testament that there is proof of the Church being removed from this earth and put into “our chambers” Needless to say, as we talked, the friend got real quiet.

19 “Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21 For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” (Isaiah 26:19-21)

Notice that it speaks of the dead rising and being taken to chambers that they are to shut the doors behind them, because the wrath of God, or indignation is going to punish the inhabitants of the earth. It speaks of what I believe was revealed to the Apostle Paul, when being taught by revelation by our Lord Jesus while living in the Arabian desert for three years, before he even came to the disciple of Jesus in Jerusalem. Paul prophecies it even further than Isaiah in his prophecy.

51 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1st Corinthians 15:51-55)

Paul reaffirms this prophecy when speaking to the Thessalonians and adds more visual information about our change that we will experience:

13 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1st Thessalonians 4:14-18)

In your mind, if you visualize what Isaiah wrote and what Paul repeated twice in his epistles, you can see that those who are in the dust of the earth, asleep in their graves (that being their mortal bodies, as the spirit is not there), they are suddenly changed, reunited with their physical bodies and changed into immortal Spirits into what Jesus is right now, a Glorified Man of flesh and bones. This is the same type of body that Jesus revealed to His apostles in their closed room and sat and ate fish and honeycomb in their presence to prove to them He was not a ghost or phantom. Jesus was an entirely flesh and bone being, that they could handle and feel, and ate before them, BUT could vanish from their site, and walk through walls. These immortal Spirits that we will be are commanded to enter their chambers and shut the doors behind them, till God's wrath is spent and the blood will be disclosed on the earth and will not be hidden.

But what bodies are we talking about here when we speak of being changed in the twinkling of an eye?

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (1st John 3:1-3)

Till that day overtakes us and we are transported so much like the Star Trek episodes used to do, and many who read this can identify with a very objective visual about “beam me up, Scotty” and being transported from one place to another, we look for our Blessed Hope.

11 “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works”. (Titus 2:11-14)

MORE QUESTIONS...

Ok. My friend asked, so where are these chambers that this passage speaks of? Isaiah has a sister verse, I believe, that adjoins what even Paul wrote and it was spoke of by our Lord Jesus when comforting His disciples.

1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” (John 14:1-4)

This Jesus spoke to draw off their minds from an earthly kingdom to an heavenly one; to point out the place to them whither he was going, and to support them with the views and hopes of glory under all their troubles. By his "Father's house" is meant heaven;

10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:1 )

We are taken to His Father's house and receive rewards based on our service for God. This is His Father's building, where he has, and will have all his family. Note that Jesus is coming to bring us to Himself, and to “receive you unto myself, that where I AM, there you may be also”. Jesus is in heaven's realm at the right hand of the Father on His Throne. Jesus will bring us to His Father's house, not come to us, but we come to Him. Another clue to the HARPAZO.

The visualization of these verses brings home to those who look for our Blessed Hope, that there is a glorious future where we will be Kings and Priest to our God and we shall reign upon the earth. John sees a symbolic representation of this truth that the Church is in God's presence, that John sees in a vision of the future.

4 "And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.”( Revelation 4:4)

Note that the description of these elders? Many have tried to hypothesize who they are. Some say angels, some say they are not human, and others have no idea, so they just pass over without discernment. Angels have never been given crowns, and these saints are entirely human. They are seated, so their work is over and they are at rest. They are on thrones, so they are rulers along with God. They are clothed with white raiment, which is a symbol and sign of the saints of God. They are crowned with gold crowns, so they have been exalted to a high position in the government of God.

This vision shows John that the Church here is symbolized by 24 elders, which is a multiplication of the number 12, which in the Bible, is a sign of government. Half from the Old Testament saints, and half from the New Testament Saints, is my belief...all comprising the Church, each look either forward or back at the sacrifice that Jesus made on the Roman cross of His crucifixion for the sins of the world by faith of both groups. The first group of saints were taken to someplace in the heavens, as Jesus emptied Paradise of Old Testament saints when He was resurrected.

7” “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.” (Ephesians 4:7-10)

Here is a vision of the combining of the two sets of saints..the Old and the New Testament .The Church will be rule with Christ for a thousand years as the Bible attest to.

8  “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. (this would be tribulations saints, my emphasis)
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:8-10)

Our destiny is to be Kings and rule with our Lord Jesus on earth and to point those who are born during that Millennial Reign of Christ, to the sacrifice that Jesus paid on the cross over 2000 years ago, as priest to the Living God who is ruling from Jerusalem. Note that you will not find the word “Church” mentioned again through the whole of Revelation past chapter 3 of this book. We are not mentioned again until we are spoken of in chapter 19 of this apocalyptic book of the start of the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ. It is another clue that the Church is not on earth for the whole of the 7 years of the reign of the Anti-Christ.

6 “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:77-9)

Notice that the bride is clothed with fine line, clean and white, for fine linen is a symbol for the righteousness of the saints, which is the Bride of Christ...Immediately, John gives the vision of Jesus returning with His armies from heaven.

11 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.” (Revelation 19:11-16)

Of these two passages found in Revelation chp. 19, I want you to focus on one thing. I know who both are, but I want you to see it...note what the Bride is clothed with? She is clothed with linen, white and clean. Then in the next passage quoted we see the armies of heaven coming to witness the final defeat of all rebellion on earth by our Great God and King, Jesus the Christ. Note what those who come with Jesus are wearing? Exactly, they are wearing linen, white and clean, which in both instances are a sign of the saints. The Church has been taken to the marriage supper of the Lamb as written in previous verses, where we receive rewards for service and are joined to our Lord Jesus, and become part of the Family of God our Father, by the marriage covenant and we come back with Him, riding on white horse dressed in the same apparel.

16 “'The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:16-19)

From the Old Testament into the New Testament, God has revealed that “we are not appointed to wrath” from God, “but to receive salvation”...being saved out of the coming Tribulation that refines Israel as silver is refined in the furnace, and to extinguish all rebellion and lawlessness on this earth where if the time were not shortened, “no flesh would be saved, but for the elect, those times will be shortened”...That is how near total this earth is purged of all sin and only those who have survived the near complete destruction of planet earth, and have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior of their souls, will enter into the Millennium as mortals.

THE INTERNET IS ABUZZ WITH PROPHECY

Many people all over the internet are sensing that the time of the return of Jesus Christ is close at hand. Some take liberty and make predictions of what date that glorious event will be, but we cannot know, BUT, we know the season, and from the words of the Bible, we are bumping right up to the time of the return of our Lord Jesus..why? Because Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that when Israel is made a nation again, then that generation will not pass till all thing be fulfilled..and the amazing part, the generation of those who saw Israel born again in her own land, is 70 years old this next year in May of 1948-2018. That my friend, is the number of a generation, and as Psalms 90 tells us:

“ The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” (Psalms 90:10)

Yes, my friend, the time of our departure grows close at hand. I have complete trust in the Words of my Omnipotent God, who knows the end from the beginning..the Alpha and the Omega, Jesus Christ. Question? Will you be among those who witness His glorious return for His Bride, at the removal of God's Church someday soon...maybe sooner than anyone thinks? Or will you be in total astonishment, or sincere remorse that you missed this greatest event that ever transpired on humanity, second only to the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead? Don't let this time get away from you.

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2nd Corinthians 6:1-2)

Today, if you hear God's voice through His Holy Spirit, do not harden your heart, as God is calling a remnant that will believe in their heart and mind, that Jesus is who He said He was, and did what He did so long ago...

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)

If you believe those words that I have just quoted, in your heart and your mind...then ask Jesus to come into your heart and life right now..Repent of your sins, and make that commitment to walk with Jesus, to read His instruction manual for the rest of your lives, your Bible, and to confess the Lord to others the hope of your salvation.

8 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:8-10)

Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Believe by faith that Jesus loves you, and died for you and the sins of the whole world. Don't be subject to the coming wrath of God, as it will be the most horrific time in all of mankind's history. Make that decision for Christ, today.

STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED

BY PETER GARCIA

America 2017 could not be a weirder time to be alive. I know you see it too. It is as if the spirit of lawlessness had suddenly decided to manifest itself in a very real and tangible way. The century's long battle over American ideology has finally come to a head, and the results are not pretty. But adding to the rapid and widespread increase of wickedness, something equally diabolical was/is afoot; the hijacking of the information age. By hijacking, I mean there is as much misinformation as there is real information mixed in with what we call the mainstream news today.

When people don't know what to believe or trust anymore, it causes them to either mentally check-out or go into full-blown panic mode. The mainstream news (people and organizations) are overwhelmingly leftist (progressive) in their political and ideological worldviews, and they want to drive the national narrative. The reason they had to hijack the narrative, is that objective truth (what is) is lethal to their left-wing ideological pattern of subjective reasoning (the agenda). So if truth can't be destroyed, the only options left for the left, is to either silence (by force) those who oppose their view, or to sow as much confusion into what is real, that the truth becomes completely obscured.

Clearly, this has been going on for some time now. How the spirit of lawlessness has become visible in 2017, is that we've actually moved beyond obfuscation. We are now to the point where truth has become irrelevant.

A Spiritual Vacuum

I do not have the time or space to rehash four centuries worth of spiritual movements, awakenings, and revivals throughout America's history. But I do want to touch on a weird, brief, flirtation Americans (and Europeans) had at the turn of the previous century. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, the world briefly flirted with spiritualism (secret societies,  Theosophy, séances, mediums, Aleister Crowley, magicians, Spiritism, cults, etc.) before shifting hard into decades of "science" based human-secularism. That ideological shift resulted in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people who were subjugated to militant atheism backed by the political auspices of communism, socialism, and fascism that ran strong from the 1920's through the 1970's.

But that ideological shift away from atheism toward spiritualism began in the 1960s and generally stayed the pattern through to the early 2000's. This was largely due to the popularization of rock (rap/country/etc.) music, free love, recreational drugs, and Eastern Mysticism. People were desperately trying to find a meaning for life apart from Biblical truth. What we are witnessing today is the swing away from sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll (hedonism), into the incorporation of music, occultic and Eastern spiritualism, but infused with technology (via the Internet, virtual reality, robotics, artificial intelligence), and pharmaceutical enhancements.

Truth v. Fiction

Objective truth is as popular now, as acne was when you were a teenager. 2017 has become a watershed year where subjective reasoning and people's feelings finally trump reality. We are to the point now where the government is actually mandating many of these things, for example:

  • Men can identify as women.
  • Women can identify as men.
  • Men and women can identify as either, or neither.
  • Physically healthy people can identify as disabled.
  • Adults can identify as toddlers or babies or animals.
  • Babies are no longer human.
  • Human overpopulation is the world's second greatest problem.
  • The world's first great problem, (whether anyone admits it or not) is that Israel exists again.
  • Borders and walls are bad.
  • Unchecked immigration is good.
  • Islam equals peace.
  • Christianity equals hate.
  • The American Constitution no longer matters.
  • Socialism is in.
  • Capitalism is now fascism.

The sad thing is that if you disagree with any of the above, you a labeled a hater, homophobe, Islamophobe, racist, bigot, fascist, etc.  While this is troubling, stranger things than this are on the horizon. Truth is violently being redefined to mean whatever the hearer wants it to mean. This spirit of lawlessness has demonic fingerprints all over it. And it stands to reason that if evil spirits could use drugs, music, and the occult as gateways into demonic possession and oppression, the same could be done with technology and the abandonment of truth. All of these then are simply mechanisms (tools) that dark forces use to ensnare people into a web of lies that deadens discernment and even the ability to reason. For this reason then...the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness... (Romans 1:18-32).

If we look at what the Bible says the future looks like, it becomes apparent that the supernatural world is bubbling back to the forefront and is being fused with drugs (Pharmakeia) and technology to provide a worldwide deception for people who willingly abandoned the truth.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thess. 2:9-12

A Brief History

Although many today would consider it a time without equal, we have in certain ways, found ourselves eerily paralleling two other periods of human history. On a cultural level, we are living in a time as described by Jesus is as being as it was "in the days of Noah." Geopolitically speaking, I would liken our world in 2017 to pre-World War I Europe.

Between the years 1890 and 1914 (this being the same period of the spiritual interest in the occult), the zeitgeist in Europe was a volatile mixture of competing philosophies (economic and governmental), rapidly developing technologies, and ever-increasing political tension. The political instability caused the leaders of the European aristocracy to begin ramping up their militaries in the potential that something would eventually happen. They didn't know what that "something" was, or how it would manifest itself, but it was in the air. They could sense it. By the time they could see it (the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria), it was too late. Things were in motion that could not be undone. And as the writer Anatole Kaletsky once noted, things went straight from impossible to inevitable - without ever passing through improbable.

The Change Agent

If the world (in its current form) were going to be here decades from now, people then would view the election of President Donald J. Trump as probably the single greatest disruption to American politics since Abraham Lincoln. A complete political outsider with enough connections, resources, and political-moxie to run and soundly beat the anointed successor (H.R.C.). His victory stunned the elites and derailed their globalist agenda. Since day one, he (Trump) has been fighting multiple running gun-battles with: A hostile media, deep-state bureaucracies (shadow government), Democrat and Republican aristocrats, pop culture, the NFL, Mexicans, and angry millennials...and those are just within our borders.

Outside the U.S., the sea of nations is restlessly churning and turning. The "civilized" world is angry that Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords, as well as moving away from the Iranian Nuclear Agreement. Both of these were the previous administration's attempts to ensnare the US into ever-increasing international entanglements.

Russia and China are making major moves in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and in the Pacific. North Korea and Iran's nuclear ambitions are forcing the West into either one of two uncomfortable scenarios, either we capitulate and accept them as nuclear powers, or we exact military force to stop them. There no longer is a third option available to us. It wouldn't be so bad if it were just North Korea and Iran. The reality is that both Iran (Russia) and North Korea (China) have powerful benefactors who would almost invariably side with them in the event of military conflict.

Israel is inching closer to bombing Syria back into the proverbial Stone Age. She simply cannot afford (existentially speaking here) to allow Iran to be imported into what used to be Syria any more than she already has. But by doing so, Israel risks bringing even more unwanted military attention from the likes of Iran, Russia, and now Turkey. This would also incur a quick reaction from the counterfeit Palestinian militants, who will undoubtedly use that as an opportunity to launch missiles and attacks against Israeli cities and communities.

The Iraqi Kurd's recent bid for independence has begun another Mid-East conflict. Traditionally speaking, the US has sided with the Kurds, and we are in a bit of a bind now since the threat of ISIS has all but dissipated in Iraq. A national Kurdistan presents a huge threat to the post-WWI boundaries of Iraq, Iran, and Turkey and they simply will not allow Kurdistan to become a reality.

All of these issues (just to name a few) have become a geo-political mine-field for the President. Any of these are ready to explode if even a single misstep occurs. Even though they are not all necessarily connected per se, you can bet that if any of them kick off, they all could.

So where do things go from here?

Conclusion

When you add up the inability to reason (subjective reasoning replacing objective truth), demonic influence, political instability/military positioning, and a powerful change agent, you have the real potential for a world that is already unhinged, to fully go off the rails.

I believe that God divinely appointed President Trump to win the 2016 presidential election for a reason (Daniel 4:17; Romans 13:1). I don't pretend to know exactly why, but my guess is that it has to do with setting the prophetic stage. According to Scripture, when the Antichrist (man of sin, son of perdition, the rider on the white horse, etc.) arrives on the scene, he does so at an unprecedented time of crisis and upheaval. A world clamoring for peace and security doesn't do so if it already has peace and security in place (1 Thess. 5:1-3).

This man of sin disguises his political ambitions under the false banner of peace (Daniel 7:8, 8:24, 11:36; Rev. 6:1-2). But in order for there to be a global demand for peace, there first needs to be a global crisis, instability, and war.

Think about it this way.

Why do we even know the names of men like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.? Well, they were great peacemakers who rose up in a period of great injustice. If there hadn't been an injustice to begin with, they wouldn't have felt the compulsion to do something about it. But because there was a great injustice, they did rise up, and their message was heard, and it did resonate with the masses, thus propelling them into historical greatness.

This is why I believe President Trump is prophetically significant. He is a leader who has watched the world moving in the wrong direction for a long time and feels compelled to do something about it. For decades, previous American leaders have allowed the crisis we see today to fester and go unchecked. In turn, it has created a world where the options for peaceful resolutions have become all but non-existent. This is very much the same way that the pre-World War II European leaders refused to deal with Adolph Hitler until they were forced to deal with him.

The only options left to us now in regards to both Iran and North Korea is war and war brings instability to the world order. Decades of lessons-learned (failed attempts) prove both that our economic embargoes and diplomacy have repeatedly and gloriously failed. But out of war and instability will come a world who demands peace and security above all else. Let us not forget that in the aftermath of both WWI and WWII, came serious and concerted efforts to create globalist organizations (League of Nations, United Nations) that would unite the global order into one. After the next World War will be when the man Antichrist rises up.

"What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the alliances of all people and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and be he god or devil, we will receive him." Henri Spaak circa 1957-1960 Secretary General of NATO

The geopolitical situation will allow the opportunity for a man such as this to arise on the political stage. This man who comes on the white horse of false peace, will take advantage of the advancements in technology along with the supernatural backing of his satanic benefactor to impose his iron-fisted will over the entire world. He will capitalize on the moral and spiritual bankruptcy of a world that had been "left behind" to deceive them. These are they who had not received a love of the truth.

The stage has already been set. The actors are in place. What we are about to witness now, is the curtain rise and the prologue to begin. While the Church is promised by Christ Himself to not enter into the 70th Week (John 14:1-3; Rev. 3:10), what we are witnessing now is the first act of things to come before we are supernaturally caught up to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you do not know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, do not hesitate even one second longer.

Admit you're a sinner and need God (Romans 3:23, 6:23)

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection as sufficient payment for your sins (John 3:16)

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-13)

If you've done this with a sincere heart, then the Bible states that you are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (Eph. 1:13-14) and that you will be redeemed before the 70th Week of Daniel. This is the time when God's wrath is poured out upon the unbelieving earth.

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 1 Thess. 5:9-11
