Jesus’ death on the cross at Calvary occurred on Nisan 14 at about 3:00 pm in the afternoon. He had been on the cross for about six hours after his horrendous scourging. Here is one account of His last hours: “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:50-54).

The Temple veil was a thick tapestry that separated the outer room in the Temple, called the Holy Place, from the inner room, called the Holy of Holies or the Most Holy Place. This inner room contained the Throne of God and no one was permitted to enter except for the High Priest, and he did so for only one day per year on the Day of Atonement. The veil was too thick and too tall for any man to tear, especially from top to bottom. It is believed the curtain was about 60 feet in height, 30 feet in width, and four inches thick. After the veil was torn, the Holy of Holies was exposed. The significance of this torn veil was that because of Jesus’ sacrificial death and blood atonement, God’s presence was now accessible to all who believe in the One the Father sent.

Three days after the crucifixion of Jesus, on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jesus early in the morning while it was still dark, according to John 20:1. She had come to finish preparing the body of Jesus as she didn’t have a chance to do it earlier because of the special Sabbath of Nisan 15 and the weekly Sabbath the following day. When she got to the tomb, she saw the boulder had been taken away from the entrance, so she ran to tell Peter and John.

Peter and John ran to the tomb and the scripture says John outran Peter and got there first but did not go in immediately. When Peter got there afterward, he went in immediately. Peter saw that the tomb was empty except for the burial linen cloths and the face cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. When John went in, the scripture says, he “saw and believed.” “For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead” (John 20:9). Some translations say they “did not believe the Scripture.” Either way, I find it incredulous that they did not realize this was going to happen as Jesus had told them four times he would be killed and then resurrected on the third day. The disciples went away to their homes after this.

Mary stayed and was weeping because she thought someone had removed the body to another location. When she looked inside the tomb, she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. They asked her why she was weeping and she said “Because they have taken the body of my Lord and I do not know where.” She then turned around and saw Jesus standing in front of her, but she did not recognize him. Jesus asked her why she was weeping and whom was she looking for. Mary assumed he was the gardener and told him if he had carried the body away, to let her know and she would take him away. Jesus then said to her, “Mary!”

She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which means Master). Jesus said unto her, Do not cling to me; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her” (John 20:17-18).

The rest of John 20 deals with Jesus appearing before the disciples a few times. The first time was on the same day of the resurrection when Jesus appeared before all the disciples except Thomas. Jesus spoke with them briefly and then “He breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). The disciples received the Holy Spirit at this time. Paul explains it this way: “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee” (2 Corinthians 1:21-22). It’s not mentioned, but I believe Jesus probably breathed on Thomas the next time Jesus appeared to the disciples eight days later.

The giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was different. Jesus described it as being “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). In Acts 2 the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples in power, enabling them to speak to the crowd that was assembled there in a way that allowed everyone to understand them in their own language. Some scholars call this an “epi” experience, after the Greek word that means “to come upon.” It’s a temporary manifestation of the Holy Spirit that enables the recipient to perform a supernatural act, often as a sign to others. Similar “epi” experiences are mentioned in Acts 10:44-46 and Acts 19:6. In the Old Testament it was said the “spirit of the Lord” came upon the recipients. This occurred to several of the judges, such as Gideon and Samson. Saul and David also had experiences with being endued with power from on high.

This is what happened to the disciples after the resurrection, but what about Jesus? Jesus had told Mary not to cling to him, for He had not yet ascended to the Father. Many theologians believe the reason that no one was to touch Jesus at this time was that He first needed to place His blood on the mercy seat in the Most Holy Place in heaven, according to Hebrews 9:12. “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” [New King James version]. They believe by Jesus doing this act in heaven, He was fulfilling the Day of Atonement, when Aaron, the High Priest, first offered sacrifices to the Lord for the sins of the people. The first Day of Atonement is found in Leviticus 16.

“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat. So he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and so he shall do for the tabernacle of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness. And he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord, and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around. Then he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel” (Leviticus 16:15-16,18-19). Seven times signifying spiritual perfection, Jesus Christ Himself.

“For on that day, the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord. This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year” (Leviticus 16:30,34).

I used to adhere to this view of Jesus entering the Most Holy Place in heaven and sprinkling His blood on the mercy seat. Of course, He would only have to do this one time and not every year. I no longer believe this way for several reasons. Let’s look at Hebrews 9:12 again, only through the King James translation. “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” The New King James version uses the word “with” his own blood while the original King James version uses the word “by” his own blood. Can you see how this one word makes all the difference in the context of this verse? I strongly advise using the King James version or at least verifying other translations with it.

Jesus’ work was done on the cross. That is why he said, “It is finished” in John 19:30. Jesus’ holy blood, not His sacrifice itself, is what brings the remission of sins to those who believe in His work. Jesus did not need to bring His blood into heaven because, by His own blood, which was shed on the cross, He was able to enter into the holy place in heaven and begin His duties as our High Priest. 1 Corinthians 15:50 says “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.” Nobody will be bringing anything from the earth with them upon entering heaven. Believers do not enter heaven with the literal blood of Christ; rather they enter in the same way that Christ entered heaven, by virtue of His blood, that was shed on the cross. To enter by the blood of Jesus is to appropriate the benefits of Christ’s sacrifice through the one requirement of faith.

“Leon Morris points out the serious error of teaching that Christ presented His blood in heaven. It would imply “that Christ’s atoning work was not completed on the cross but that he still had to do some atoning act in heaven like the earthly high priest who took the blood into the Most Holy Place on the Day of Atonement.” Not only is this theory unbiblical but it also gives support to the Roman Catholic/Anglo-Catholic theology of the perpetual offering of the blood of Christ. Heretical groups argue this point to a destructive (cf. 2 Peter 2:1) extreme in teaching that the blood of Christ is used as a perpetual offering in heaven. Christ entered once and for all into the holy place as the One who found and obtained eternal redemption for those trusting in Him alone for salvation.” {1}

Just as the new covenant is superior to the old covenant, the Law, so is the heavenly tabernacle superior to the earthly tabernacle. Likewise, the High Priest in heaven is vastly superior to any earthly priest. “We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, in as much as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises” (Hebrews 8:1-6).

Hebrews 9 is not a fulfillment of Leviticus 16, but contrasts the differences between the two “atonements.” According to the law, almost all things are purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. The shedding of the blood of bulls, goats, and lambs during the times before Jesus’ sacrifice was an earthly pattern of the heavenly “atonement.” It satisfied the old covenant of the Law.

The new covenant of grace began when Jesus died on the cross as a human sacrifice for the sins of the world. Once His precious holy blood was shed on the cross, the permanent atonement for mankind was finished for all who believe in His sacrifice. No blood is needed for the mercy seat on the ark of the covenant (new covenant/testament) in heaven because the High Priest is Holy and so are the inhabitants of heaven. The saints in heaven no longer need blood atonement for their sins. “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18)

The blood of bulls and goats only covered up sin for a brief time and the rituals and sacrifices needed to be repeated every year. The blood of Jesus does not cover up sin temporarily but offers permanent forgiveness for sin. His sacrifice and shedding of blood only had to be accomplished one time. “For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself” (Hebrews 9:24-26).

“In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him: (Ephesians 1:7-10).

While Jesus’ body was in the tomb, Jesus’ spirit went to Sheol. “Sheol is a Hebrew word that simply means “abode of the dead.” The Greek equivalent is “hades”, sometimes translated “hell” in English. Before the cross no one could enter heaven because the animals they sacrificed didn’t cleanse them of their sins, they just allowed God to set their sins aside until Jesus came to die for them.

“Therefore, Sheol consisted of two distinct areas. One was a place of comfort where those who had died in faith had a pleasant place to wait for Jesus to come. After the cross, Jesus took the believing dead to heaven with Him, so that side of Sheol is empty now. Today, the spirits of believers who die go directly to be with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:6-8).

The other was a place of torment where the unbelieving dead still go to wait for the Great White Throne judgment at the end of the Millennium. The unbelieving dead from all ages will remain there until they are called to stand before God and receive their final judgment. Rev. 20:13 says at that time Hades will give up its dead and each person will be judged according to his or her works. The account of the Rich Man and Lazarus gives the Bible’s best description of the two sides of Sheol/Hades (Luke 16:19-31).” {2}

Many scholars believe Ephesians 4:8-10 describe Jesus going to Paradise (with one of the thieves on the cross according to Luke 23:43) and emptying Sheol of all who died in faith and then taking them to heaven when he ascended. “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)

After Jesus’ spirit went to Sheol for three days, He returned to the burial tomb where He was resurrected a short time before His appearance to Mary. God reunited his soul with an eternal body so that He is the first fruits of the resurrection harvest. As Psalm 16 makes clear, Jesus is not only like us, but different. Jesus’s body was buried, like ours, but it did not decay. “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:9-11).

Right after Jesus talked with Mary, he went to heaven and entered the Holy of Holies, and was reunited with the Father. He made several trips back to Earth during the 40 days after His resurrection. After Jesus’ meeting with the disciples on resurrection Sunday, there were only six more recorded appearances. Four were to the disciples (John 20:26-31, John 21:1-23, Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:3-8), one was to James (1 Corinthians 15:7), and one was to about 500 others (1 Corinthians 15:6), his only public appearance between the resurrection and the ascension.

Jesus’ ascension is described in Acts 1:9-11: “Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Nisan 10, he should have been crowned King of Israel, instead, they crucified him. I believe when He ascended into heaven 10 days before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, He was crowned king of the earth and heaven. Here is the finish of Acts 1:9-11 (Jesus’ ascension into heaven) as recorded by Daniel: “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.

Jesus was a prophet (the prophet) while He was on Earth. Of course, he was much more than that, He was the fulfillment of many prophecies and the only one who ever lived that did not transgress against God’s law. “Then He said to them, ‘These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.’ And He opened their understanding that they might comprehend the Scriptures” (Luke 24:44-45).

Now in heaven, Jesus is both a High Priest and King, something the kings of Israel and Judah were never allowed to do. Once, God struck King Uzziah with leprosy after he tried to burn incense on the altar of incense in the temple, which was a job meant only for priests. He had leprosy until the day he died. “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek” (Hebrews 5:9-10). “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Romans 8:34).

After the Rapture of the Church and the subsequent Tribulation, we will await the order from the Supreme Commander of the heavenly forces (both angelic and redeemed mankind) to “mount up” and prepare for war (in which we will only be witnesses). The Man of War will be called back into action to redeem His remnant saints on the earth and to once and for all defeat His enemies, both angelic and human. It will be like the cavalry arriving at the last moment to save those who are about to be slaughtered. They will first hear the bugle (shofar/trumpet) sounding the cavalry charge. Then they will see the Man of War on His white stallion. He will not be wearing a white cowboy hat, but He will be wearing many crowns on His head. He will not be wielding a saber, but instead, will use the sickle of the word of God.“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

Following Him will be the armies of heaven, all riding upon white horses. I can imagine the poor pathetic armies of the Antichrist shaking in their boots with fear. Here is how John described it. ”Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:11-16).

The result will be the slaughter of the Beast’s armies as described in Revelation 14. “And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe. So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs” (Revelation 14:18-20).

Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and his armies will come to the earth on a not-too-distant future day of Trumpets (Tishri 1), fulfilling this 5th Feast of the Lord. He will judge the surviving nations and peoples of the earth on the Day of Atonement, (Tishri 10), fulfilling the 6th Feast of the Lord. This is known as the sheep and goat judgment, as described in Matthew 25:31-46. “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me” (Matthew 25:31-36).

Five days later on Tishri 15, the first day of the 7th Feast of the Lord, Tabernacles, Jesus Christ will tabernacle with mankind once again. From the 15th day to the 22nd day of Tishri, Jesus will fulfill the Feast of Tabernacles with His presence amongst the surviving, faithful remnant of Israel and the Gentiles. The seven Feasts of the Lord will now all be fulfilled by Jesus Christ before His millennial kingdom begins a short time later. The Feast of Tabernacles will be required for all peoples of the earth to attend in the Millennium. The third temple will be destroyed at the Second Coming of Christ. The great earthquake of Zechariah 14:4 will drastically change the topography of Jerusalem. It will result in the provision of a very large level area where the Millennial Temple of Ezekiel 40-46 will be constructed. This is the temple from which Jesus will reign over all the earth.

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 14:16-21).

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

As WWIII heats up, along with the prospect of a new world order, the wise will prepare to sustain themselves outside the system

Last week brought the bombshell news that the globalists are already preparing to launch their new one-world digital currency. They call it the Unicoin. It would seem that their chances of succeeding remain dubious as long as Russia and China are competing with plans for their own global economic domination.

We don’t yet know which version of the New World Order we will be living under — the U.S./NATO version or the Chinese/Russian version.

But whether we end up with a digital yuan, a digital Unicoin as advocated last week by the International Monetary Fund, or some other digital currency, the days of the U.S. fiat dollar being the world’s reserve currency appear numbered.

The war in Ukraine has ignited a global rebellion against the U.S.-led world order, which has been underpinned by the petro dollar since the end of World War II. But the U.S. government and its corporate media partners are doing their best to keep this global rebellion hidden from Americans and Europeans.

Ukraine is winning the war and everything will be fine, we’re told.

Meanwhile, the dollar is gradually being exposed as a sham currency that will ultimately be subject to a hasty, rudimentary burial as more and more nations realize it is fraudulent. A scam. The dollar is backed by nothing. The supposed power and reach of the U.S. government with Pax Americana was probably always overrated but at this point in history it’s going to be exposed as a laughing stock.

Since it was taken off the gold standard decades ago, most of what propped up the dollar was the illusion of a strong U.S. military that kept any rebellious nations in line. The U.S. spends more on its “defense” than the next 10 countries combined, and most of that money has gone into maintaining expensive overseas bases and CIA mischief around the world. The US controls about 750 bases in at least 80 countries. Couple that rambling military footprint with an abundance of U.S. natural resources, and the perceived geopolitical leadership of the U.S. government, and that’s what backs the dollar.

But that’s the problem. All of the above U.S. advantages are based more on perception than reality. All of these perceived pillars of American power are in rapid decline due to crazy amounts of debt, over $32 trillion at last count, and poor leadership.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the subject of mockery on Saudi Arabian TV. This would have never happened in the past. Even if they didn’t like us. They respected us. Not any more. Biden is a man who appoints the likes of Samuel Brinton and Rachel Levy to high government posts. How can anyone take him seriously?

Samuel Brinton was placed in charge of the nuclear waste division of the U.S. Department of Energy, until he started stealing ladies underwear from airports.

When it comes to natural resources, what good are they when our government continuously restricts the exploration, processing and use of so-called fossil fuels while subsidizing unreliable “renewables” like solar and wind turbines, the equipment for which is primarily made in China? When the solar panels outlast their approximately 15-year lifespans, they will present an environmental nightmare in terms of where and how to dispose of their highly toxic components. The wind mills chop up birds like hamburger meat. Yes, the whole “green energy” agenda pushed by Biden and his climate czar, John Kerry, is but another scam meant to exert ever-greater control over human behavior. They could care less about the environment.

The fierce U.S. military machine is also a mirage. It’s been reported that the U.S. military could not last more than a week in a war with China over Taiwan before running out of munitions, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Russia, on the other hand, has shown the ability to outproduce the U.S. in a war of attrition in Ukraine, where NATO countries appear unable to keep up with the war’s constant devouring of ammunition.

Wars are won and lost basically over three issues:

Weapons and ammunition,
Experience in using the weapons on the battlefield,
Access to cheap, reliable energy with which to fuel the tanks, armored vehicles, planes, etc.

If you look at the situation in Ukraine, Russia has the advantage in all three aspects of war.

The U.S. refuses to tap its vast resources out of a fake concern for the environment. Its soldiers have no real experience going up against a fighting force at the level of Russia, and U.S. factories no longer have the infrastructure in place to ramp up on a full war-time footing, churning out ammunition of all sizes on a mass scale.

At the helm of the U.S./NATO effort is Joe Biden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, all proven incompetents. A betting man would go with Putin and his crew over Biden and his.

Russia also has the advantage in super weapons with its hypersonic missiles and its subs outfitted with Poseidon missiles able to cause a tsunami when fired under water at the U.S. coastline.

So Russia/China are winning World War III at both the economic level and the military level.

What about your money? What will still have purchasing power in light of a dying dollar and rising inflation?

There are many opinions on this, and I am not a professional financial planner, so all I can do is tell you what I’ve decided.

If you’re like me and can’t afford land or rental houses, one of the most affordable hedges against inflation is to invest in pre-1964 silver coins. You can find these online, or at your local coin dealer and you can buy a little at a time. The coins do not have to be rare or “uncirculated” to have value because the melt value alone is worth more than the face value.

For example, a Ben Franklin half-dollar, minted from 1948 through 1963 with 90 percent silver, is still in circulation with a face value of 50 cents. But the melt value is now a little over $9 and these coins are regularly sold for $18 or more each, depending on condition.

A Washington quarter, minted from 1932 to 1964, also 90 percent silver, still has a face value of 25 cents but its melt value is $4.54 based on today’s spot silver price. You regularly see them sell for up to $7 or $8 apiece.

The Mercury dime, minted from 1916 to 1945, and the Roosevelt dime, minted from 1946 to 1964, are also 90 percent silver and worth many times their face value.

Up until 1964 a dime, quarter, half dollar, silver dollar, still had at least 40 percent silver. But by 1971 no more silver was included in any U.S. coinage, even the vaunted “silver dollar” had all silver removed by 1971 under Richard Nixon. The pennies today are not even made of copper, they are mostly zinc with a thin copper coating. In other words, it’s fake money, just like the paper dollars are fake, our coins are fake, built on the perception that it’s real.

And that brings me to another separate but related issue. Our money still says “In God We Trust.” That’s also fake. So now we’re talking about fake money built on a fake foundation. This country hasn’t placed its trust in God in a long time. Prayer was removed from the public schools in 1962 with nary a peep from the American families who send their kids into these indoctrination centers.

America trusts in its military might and economic power, and those are now showing signs of breaking. All the world will soon watch in amazement as America goes down. The only question is: Will it go down in a heap of smoldering ashes or will it just gradually fade from international prominence?

But none of the economic hardships that we are experiencing at this moment should shock any of us. The truth is that we were warned about all of these things well ahead of time. Many independent voices have been warning us that there would be severe consequences for the exceedingly foolish economic decisions that our leaders were making, and now those severe consequences are starting to play out right in front of our eyes. The following are 5 economic disasters we were warned about in advance that are happening right now…

#1 We were warned that a great commercial real estate crisis would be coming, and now it is here. In fact, we just witnessed another massive default…

With recent stress in the regional banking sector, sentiment in US commercial real estate (CRE) – and especially the office sector – has turned negative as investors prepare for potential spillover effects (with JPM, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs all joining the gloom parade), especially as high-profile defaults continue to make headlines as borrowers face higher debt service costs and refinancing becomes much harder ahead of a $400 billion CRE debt maturities this year alone.

The latest headline fueling concerns about a potential CRE crisis involves a fund belonging to CRE giant Brookfield defaulting on a $161.4 million mortgage for twelve office buildings in Washington, DC.

According to Bloomberg, the loan was transferred to a special servicer working with “the borrower to execute a pre-negotiation agreement and to determine the path forward.”

#2 We were warned that there would be widespread layoffs as economic conditions in the United States deteriorated. Sadly, that is now happening all around us. For example, on Monday accounting firm Ernst & Young announced that they will be laying off thousands of highly paid workers…

Ernst & Young said Monday that it would eliminate roughly 3,000 jobs from its US workforce as it pivots to address shifts in demand and “overcapacity” in sections of its business.

The cuts represent less than 5% of the US firm’s total workforce. EY described the workforce reduction as “part of the ongoing management of our business” and said it didn’t stem from the firm’s recent failure to implement a global breakup.

#3 We were warned that the largest corporate debt bubble in the history of the world would eventually burst, and now corporations are beginning to default on their debts at a rate that should deeply alarm all of us…

More companies around the world defaulted on their debts in the first three months of this year than in any quarter since late 2020, when businesses were still hamstrung by restrictions to stop the spread of Covid.

In a report Tuesday, credit rating agency Moody’s said 33 of the corporations it rates defaulted on their debts in the first quarter, the highest level since the last quarter of 2020 when 47 companies defaulted. Almost half, or 15 companies, defaulted last month — the highest monthly count since December 2020.

Defaulting firms included Silicon Valley Bank, which collapsed in March, its holding company SVB Financial Group and Signature Bank.

#4 We were warned that we would witness a dramatic surge in bankruptcies in 2023, and that is precisely what is happening…

Bankruptcy filings across the United States rose for the third straight month in March in all major industries. A total of 42,368 new bankruptcies were filed last month, according to data from Epiq Bankruptcy, a provider of U.S. bankruptcy court data, technology, and services.

This is 17 percent up from the 36,068 filings in March 2022 and is the highest number of monthly bankruptcy filings since April 2021.

Data from S&P Global Market Intelligence showed 71 corporate bankruptcy petitions in March, a jump from 58 in the previous month. This is the highest monthly total since July 2020 and the fourth straight month of increases.

#5 We were warned that the rest of the world would eventually start rejecting the U.S. dollar, and now “de-dollarization” is happening at a “stunning” pace…

The dollar is losing its reserve status at a faster pace than generally accepted as many analysts have failed to account for last year’s wild exchange rate moves, according to Stephen Jen.

The greenback’s share in global reserves slid last year at 10 times the average speed of the past two decades as a number of countries looked for alternatives after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine triggered sanctions, Jen and his Eurizon SLJ Capital Ltd. colleague Joana Freire wrote in a note. Adjusting for exchange rate movements, the dollar has lost about 11% of its market share since 2016 and double that amount since 2008, they said.

“The dollar suffered a stunning collapse in 2022 in its market share as a reserve currency, presumably due to its muscular use of sanctions,” Jen and Freire wrote. “Exceptional actions taken by the US and its allies against Russia have startled large reserve-holding countries,” most of which are emerging economies from the so-called Global South, they said.

Unfortunately, we are still only in the very early stages of this economic meltdown.

The general population is starting to understand that things have gone horribly wrong, and a CNBC survey that was just released discovered that Americans “have never been more negative about the economy” than they are at this moment…

Amid persistent inflation, higher interest rates and recession worries, Americans have never been more negative about the economy, according to the latest CNBC All-America Economic Survey.

A record 69% of the public holds negative views about the economy both now and in the future, the highest percentage in the survey’s 17-year history.

Even during the darkest days of 2008 and 2009 Americans were more optimistic about the future of the economy than they are right now.

Just think about that.

We are in really deep trouble.

Of course this new economic crisis will take some time to fully play out.

But it has officially arrived.

The months ahead are going to be filled with economic pain, and that is going to cause a tremendous amount of turmoil throughout our entire society.

The book tells of how Jesus' first coming was in humility and His final one as the Son of God entering the world as a conquering hero and King of Kings – Savior of Israel. Before that, it tells of God's enduring plan for Israel and how He establishes a just peace for the whole world.

Surprised that this one book many have not read tells you what you need to know in times like this? Well, it helps to have some context.

Let's begin in Zechariah 8:2-10:

"Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour."

God has returned to His people Israel – old men, old women, children. He's coming to save them from the coming invasion from the east and west. We read in other books that the invasion is coming from the south and west. The Temple will be rebuilt. Got it?

Let's continue with verses 11-23.

"But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the Lord of hosts. For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not: So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not. These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord. And the word of the Lord of hosts came unto me, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also. Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you."

The Lord instructs His people not to fear, but pray and listen to Him. Many people, from other nations, will join the Jews because they have been told that God is with them.

In Zechariah 10:5, we learn that that Israel will fight against this onslaught as "mighty men" because the Lord is with them. The invaders shall become "confounded."

In Zechariah 12:2-6, we read that He will "make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God. In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem."

In Zechariah 12:8-10, we hear, "In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."

Then, in Zechariah 13:6, comes a tender moment: "And one shall say unto Him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."

Incredible.

We're told in Zechariah 13:8 the cost of this war, as two parts of Israel will be "cut off," but a third shall be left. In the following passage, it says: "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God."

Zechariah 14:1-3 begins like this: "Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle."

The Lord makes clear that He will gather all nations for this purpose. He reveals through his prophet: "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour. And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance."

Zechariah then tells us that "every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles."

Yes, the feast of tabernacle. You will be celebrating it, if you are fortunate enough to be there.

If that were all you knew about what Zechariah, it would be more than enough to get you to read this one short book of the Bible to help your walk with God in the coming days of the close of history. Would it not be enough to persuade you of the Bible's central focus on the nation of Israel? Would it be enough to persuade you that globalism is not for godly people?

If you have bought fuel or groceries lately, you probably have noticed that the Biden Administration propaganda about reducing inflation is nothing more than a shell game trying to get you to believe that inflation is not as bad as your wallet says it is. The Biden Administration, and the lapdog news media for that matter, focuses on the core inflation rates that remove energy and food prices from the calculation. It’s a major fudge factor justified by government economists because they say food and fuel prices are too volatile to be included. The “renaming” of the Consumer Price Indexes occurred in 1978, when the Lord of Inflation, Jimmy Carter, blew up the economy like Biden is doing today.

Energy and food costs are calculated in the Consumer Price Index-Urban, or CPI-U, not the “Core CPI’ that removes energy and food and is used by inflation-generating Administrations and the news media to make it seem like socialist economic policies are not as bad as they seem. On April 13, White House National Economic Council Deputy Director Bharat Ramamurti told CNBC that the March CPI report is “a very, very positive report, as you highlighted just now, inflation at the headline level continues to come down, nine straight months now of declining inflation. One of the most salient prices for families, for consumers–grocery prices–actually went down over the last month.” I guess Ramamurti doesn’t do his own grocery shopping because the rest of us haven’t seen this relief.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Wednesday that the CPI-U “rose 0.1 percent in March on a seasonally adjusted basis, after increasing 0.4 percent in February. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 5.0 percent before seasonal adjustment. The index for shelter was by far the largest contributor to the monthly all items increase. This more than offset a decline in the energy index, which decreased 3.5 percent over the month as all major energy component indexes declined. The food index was unchanged in March with the food at home index falling 0.3 percent. The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.4 percent in March, after rising 0.5 percent in February. Indexes which increased in March include shelter, motor vehicle insurance, airline fares, household furnishings and operations, and new vehicles.”

BLS said, “The all items index increased 5.0 percent for the 12 months ending March; this was the smallest 12-month increase since the period ending May 2021. The all items less food and energy index rose 5.6 percent over the last 12 months. The energy index decreased 6.4 percent for the 12 months ending March, and the food index increased 8.5 percent over the last year.” So don’t get the impression that inflation is going down, it’s only the rate of the increase that is slowing. Figures lie and liars figure. It’s like Jeremiah 8:11, “For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.” They are trying to make it hurt less in our minds saying things are headed in the right direction, when they are close to running off a cliff. Believing them is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

It’s amazing how many Christians think that good works will get them to Heaven. They believe that God has some kind of point system, and if they do enough good things, it will outweigh the bad things they’ve done. But nothing like that is taught in the Bible.

The problem is that many Christians don’t understand the basic message of the gospel. They point to their own works as to why they will go to Heaven. And some people who claim to be Christians think that Jesus Christ isn’t necessarily the only way to God. They think that all roads lead to God, as long as people are sincere in their hearts.

However, Jesus made radical and exclusive claims. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 NLT). Any examination of the basic message of the gospel will quickly reveal that Jesus Christ is the only way to a relationship with God.

While it’s true that non-Christians need to hear the gospel, it’s also true that Christians need to learn the gospel. We need to know the gospel before we can share it with others.

The apostle Paul wrote this about the Christian’s spiritual armor: “For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared” (Ephesians 6:15 NLT).

In Paul’s day, the Roman soldiers wore sandals with nails or cleats on the soles to give them firm footing. They could dig in and hold their ground. In the same way, the Good News, the gospel, gives us security and a firm foundation on which to build our lives.

When was the last time you went out of your way to share the gospel with someone? When was the last time you prayed for someone to come to Christ?
