Extreme Weather in Prophecy: Part 2 of 3 - By Nathan Jones - https://www.raptureready.com/2022/12/10/extreme-weather-in-prophecy-part-2-of-3-by-nathan-jones/   In Part 1 of this teaching about the end-times sign of nature as it relates to extreme weather, we looked to the Bible to see that God does indeed exhibit a pattern of using extreme weather to get a wayward people’s attention and call them back to a right relationship with Him. In this part, we will scour the data to see if, in truth, natural disasters are indeed increasing in frequency and intensity.   Today’s Extreme Weather   What are we witnessing happening all around the world today? All sorts of weather calamities! Out-of-control hurricanes, record numbers of tornadoes, increasing earthquakes, devastating floods, and destructive forest fires are occurring more and more frequently and causing greater and greater damage with each and every passing year. We can all admit that we recognize nature has been getting out of hand, and it’s been getting worse.   Natural News released an article by David Gutierrez titled “Natural Disasters Up More Than 400 Percent in Two Decades.” The article notes that: “natural disasters are increasing in frequency, ravaging the world, our countries, and even our own homes…. The number of natural disasters around the world has increased by more than four times in the last 20 years, according to a report released by the British charity Oxfam.” The earth is currently experiencing approximately 500 natural disasters per year, compared with 120 per year in the early 1980s.   A report by The Weather Channel titled “Nine Billion-Dollar Weather Disasters So Far In 2022,” written by Jan Wesner Childs, notes that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports that the past two years saw record lists of billion-dollar disasters, thanks largely to drought plus devastating wildfire and hurricane seasons in the second half of the year. Other recent years have also been active. From 1980 to 2017, there was an average of $7.7 billion-dollar weather disasters per year. But, in just the past five years, that number has gone up to $17.8.   Here are the nine-billion-dollar weather disasters that have occurred so far in 2022:   1. Tornado Outbreak — On March 30, a string of 83 tornadoes hit several Gulf Coast states. Homes, businesses, schools, and other buildings were damaged or destroyed at a cost of $1.3 billion.   2. Tornado Outbreak — On April 4-6, a combined 100 tornadoes were reported rampaging across Texas to South Carolina over the course of three days. The strongest, rated EF4, destroyed several neighborhoods in Pembroke, Georgia. Total damage added up to $1.3 billion.   3. Severe Weather Outbreak — From April 11-13, an outbreak of severe weather swept across several southern states due to damaging winds and dozens of tornadoes. $2.2 billion in damages.   4. Hail — On May 9, in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, baseball-sized hail pummeled cars and homes, leading to $1.2 billion in damage.   5. Severe Weather Outbreak — On May 11-12, tornadoes, hail, and high winds targeted several northern central states including South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, causing $1.3 billion in damage.   6. Hail — On May 19, severe hail storms, including several reports of golf-ball-sized hail, pounded homes, vehicles, and businesses in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Total damages added up to $1.3 billion.   7. Severe Weather Outbreak — On June 7-8, damaging winds, hail, and more than two dozen tornadoes caused $1.4 billion in damage across Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, and Ohio. Nebraska was hit especially hard with hail and wind damage to homes, businesses, vehicles, and farms.   8. Derecho — On June 13, a line of thunderstorms ripped across several states including Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. Winds reached an estimated 90 mph to 95 mph.   9. Drought — Drought in the western and southern plains. Last year, drought in the west racked up nearly $10 billion in damages, including crop losses.   Not only has severe weather plagued the world in increasing destruction over the past few years, but so too have earthquakes. NBC News wrote in their article “Worldwide Surge in ‘Great’ Earthquakes Seen in Past 10 Years” that the annual number of “great” earthquakes has nearly tripled over the last decade, “providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One.” The article notes that between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. “That’s an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America.”   The report concludes that, on average, there are normally only 16 major earthquakes (M 7.0-8.0+) worldwide per year. In addition, we experience an average of 142 strong earthquakes (M 6.0-7.0) worldwide annually.   The Week released an article titled “The World’s Most Extreme Weather Events of 2021,” written by Julia O’Driscoll, that lists the top ten most devastating natural disasters that happened during 2021.   1. Record-breaking Snowfall, Madrid — Snow Storm Filomena created record-breaking snow, which left many people stranded. The storm ended up causing 1.6 billion dollars of damage. Madrid just doesn’t see weather events like this lately. Reports say this storm was the worst snowstorm Madrid has experienced in 50 years.   2. Storm Christoph, UK — Reports say this storm caused one of the wettest three-day periods on record, affecting both northern Wales and northwest England. Residents there claimed the storm caused a tremendous atmosphere of anxiety and disbelief.   3. Cyclone Ana, Fiji — Fiji was hit by Cyclone Ana just after they had already been hit by another cyclone. The cyclone caused 10,000 people to take refuge. Some 318 evacuation centers across the country had to be opened to help the people who’d been hurt by the storm.   4. Polar Vortex, Texas — Texas was affected by a natural disaster involving a tremendous cold snap due to a weather anomaly called a polar vortex. Temperatures dropped to a chilling -5 degrees Fahrenheit, or -15 degrees Celsius, which is unheard of in this hot area of the country. Many, many people lost power and had their pipes burst, leaving them without heat and water for days. Some people even froze to death.   5. Dust Storm, China — A huge dust storm engulfed China. It totally blacked out the skies, causing hazardous breathing conditions for the people who live in that area of the world. The residents of Beijing said the sky turned orange.   6. Flooding, Sydney and New South Wales, Australia — Australian residents felt the devastating effects of extreme flooding due to heavy downpours, which lead to rivers and dams overflowing. Thousands had to be evacuated from their homes.   7. Cyclone Seroja, Indonesia — Indonesia was hit by Cyclone Seroja, causing dramatic flooding and landslides. Residents claim they hadn’t seen anything like it in decades. Over 22,000 people were displaced and had to flee from their homes because of this natural disaster.   8. Record Temperatures, Moscow — Russia residents were scorched by a record-breaking heatwave.   9. Heat Dome, Pacific Northwest — A heat dome formed over the U.S. and Canada in the Pacific region of our country. People there experienced a record heatwave with temperatures nearing a blistering 115 degrees Fahrenheit. While that wouldn’t be too weird for people in some parts of the world, there it was devastating. People living in those milder climates were just not prepared for that sort of hot weather.   10. Bootleg Fire, Oregon — Horrific fires raging across the Pacific area of the United States in California and Oregon. The Bootleg Fire was the biggest fire that Oregon claims to have ever experienced. Last reported, the wildfire had destroyed 160 homes and ranches.   11. Flooding, West Germany — Western Germany endured floods that engulfed whole streets and swallowed up homes.   12. Flooding, China — The floods China experienced were quite awful. Some weathermen said it was the most rain that area of the world has seen in a thousand years.   13. Wildfires, Greece — Wildfires raged across Greece, killing 12 people. Not just Greece but Turkey and Italy also were plagued by wildfires spreading all over the Mediterranean due to a heatwave.   14. Hurricane Ida, US — Hurricane Ida left a tremendous amount of damage, especially terrible flooding in New York. The storms were so intense that the floodwaters filled up New York City subway stations. Millions of people were without power.   15. Monsoon Flooding, India and Nepal — Several Nepalese regions and two Indian states were hit by “heavy late monsoon rains” in October, Reuters reported. Deadly flash floods took the lives of more than 180 people as homes were submerged or crushed by rocks.   16. Tornadoes, Kentucky — More than 30 tornadoes tore through Kentucky and seven other states, claiming the lives of at least 90 people and leaving thousands of residents homeless. The state’s governor said that this was the most devastating, most deadly tornado event in Kentucky’s history.   17. Typhoons, Philippines — The Philippine Red Cross described complete carnage in coastal areas of the country after Super Typhoon Rai sent some 400,000 people running for safety on December 16th. Winds at around 120 mph ripped through the nation’s southeastern islands, injuring at least 500 people. A further 375 people are known to have died.   As bad as 2021 turned out to be, 2022 continued the crazy weather onslaught. People, in their article titled “The Most Extreme Weather Events of 2022 (So Far),” written by Diane J. Cho, reported the natural disasters plaguing the world during the first four months of 2022.   1. Winter Storm Izzy — In January, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky were hit particularly hard by winter storm Izzy, which brought on freezing temperatures, high winds, snow, and ice to the southeast region of the United States. The frigid weather event left more than 100,000 people without power, and places like North Carolina saw up to 10 inches of snow. North Carolina highway patrol responded to 300 car crashes.   2. Snow Storm Malik — In January, in Northern Europe, the storm brought on hurricane-level winds, floods, and at least 130,000 homes in England lost power. One was a nine-year-old boy who died when a tree fell on him, and a person in the Czech Republic was killed after sustaining injuries from a wall that was blown down by the wind.   3. Malaysia Hit by Massive Flood — In January, more than 125,000 people had to evacuate as heavy rain caused massive floods in Malaysia. The country’s annual monsoon season usually brings a lot of rain, but this year’s unusually heavy rainfall displaced more than 8,000 people and filled up more than a hundred relief centers. At least 50 people died in the floods.   4. Texas Icing — In February, the Northeast was pounded with snow, sleet, and ice. Moving from New Mexico to New England, the freezing cold front buried neighborhoods with more than a foot of snow in New York and New England. Texas Governor Greg Abbott called the winter storm “one of the most significant icing events that we’ve had in the State of Texas in at least several decades.”   5. Antarctic Heatwave — In March, the coldest location on the planet had reached up to 70 degrees above normal for more than three days in March. From minus 63 degrees to 0 degrees. The staggering leap broke the record for hottest ever in the region so far.   6. India’s Heatwave — March was the hottest month on record for India in 122 years. The country basically skipped spring and zoomed right into summer.   7. Tropical Cyclone Gombe — The death toll rose to at least 50 people after Tropical Cyclone Gombe pummeled Mozambique in March. Southern Africa has seen a rise in cyclones that have become more deadly over time.   8. Alabama Tornadoes — In April, the southern states endured floods, hail storms, and dangerous winds, but the National Weather Service announced that Alabama had the most tornado warnings out of all the states this year, 115 to be exact, as of April 18. Coming in second was Mississippi with 110, Texas with 104, and Arkansas with 88.   9. Tropical Storm Megi — In April, Tropical Storm Megi ravaged the Philippines, where landslides from the relentless rain buried a remote community, killing at least 123 people.   The summer of 2022 continued to see the ongoing collapse of the Australian Reef. In recent years, Australia has suffered severe drought, historic bushfires, successive years of record-breaking floods, and six mass bleaching events on the Great Barrier Reef.   Gizmodo reported on what’s being called “America’s Mega-Drought.” The western and southwestern U.S. is wilting under the biggest drought in 1,200 years.” As the Great Salt Lake Dries Up, Utah Faces what some are calling an “Environmental Nuclear Bomb.” Long-sunken history and even evidence of past crimes are emerging from the receding waters. First, a barrel containing a body showed up in Lake Mead. Less than a week later, separate skeletal remains surfaced. Elsewhere where droughts are occurring, similar dead bodies are literally popping up out of the earth.   In the third and last part of this teaching about the end-times sign of nature as it relates to extreme weather, we will look to the book of Revelation to see how God will use natural disasters to judge the world during the coming Tribulation period.   https://christinprophecyblog.org

5 Global Flashpoints Which Could Absolutely Explode During The Early Stages Of 2023 - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/5-global-flashpoints-which-could-absolutely-explode-during-the-early-stages-of-2023/   Will 2023 be a year when extremely destructive conflicts erupt all over the world? We are certainly already living in a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and tensions are approaching the boiling point in a number of key global flashpoints right now. If several more major conflicts were to suddenly begin next year, we could potentially witness an extended period of geopolitical instability that would be unlike anything that we have ever witnessed. It is easy to start wars, but it is much harder to end them. If you doubt this, just look at what is going on in Ukraine. There is no end in sight for that conflict, and there are several other wars that could literally erupt at any time. The following are 5 global flashpoints which could absolutely explode during the early stages of 2023…   #1 Serbia   Are you ready for another war in the Balkans? Ethnic tensions have risen to the highest level in more than two decades, and the president of Serbia just convened an emergency gathering of his national security council…   Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has met his national security council as tensions rise in Kosovo between the authorities there and ethnic Serbs.   On Saturday a stun grenade was thrown at EU police in north Kosovo, where Serbs form a majority, and local police exchanged fire with unknown groups.   Ethnic Serbs set up road blocks after Kosovan police were deployed in a dispute over car number plates.   Some in the region now believe that war is “inevitable”, and Kosovo is already asking NATO to step in and intervene…   At a news conference in Kosovo’s capital Pristina on Sunday, Prime Minister Albin Kurti asked the Kosovo Force (KFOR), a NATO-led international peacekeeping force, to guarantee “freedom of movement,” as he accused “criminal gangs” of blocking roads.   A fragile peace has been preserved in Kosovo since it declared independence from Serbia in 2008 following the 1998-99 war in which NATO intervened to protect Kosovo’s Albanian majority. Serbia does not recognize Kosovo’s independence.   #2 The Disputed Border Between China And India   On Tuesday, we learned that there has been yet another violent clash along the hotly disputed border between China and India…   Soldiers from India and China clashed last week along their disputed border, India’s defense minister said Tuesday, in the latest violence along the contested frontier since June 2020, when troops from both countries were killed in a deadly brawl.   Rajnath Singh, who addressed lawmakers in parliament, said Friday’s encounter along the Tawang sector of eastern Arunachal Pradesh state started when Chinese troops “encroached into Indian territory” and “unilaterally tried to change the status quo” along the disputed border near Yangtze.   The Chinese just can’t seem to stop provoking India, and a full-blown conflict between the two nations could escalate out of control very rapidly.   Let us hope that does not happen, because both China and India possess nuclear weapons.   #3 Taiwan   For a long time, we have been warned that China will eventually invade Taiwan.   Unfortunately, tensions in the region just continue to escalate, and on Tuesday the Chinese sent more bombers into Taiwan’s air defense zone than ever before…   China sent a record 18 nuclear-capable bombers into Taiwan’s air defence zone, Taipei said on Tuesday (Dec 13), just days after Beijing banned more Taiwanese imports in the latest sign of deteriorating ties.   Democratic Taiwan lives under the constant threat of invasion by China, which sees the self-ruled island as part of its territory to be seized one day.   #4 Iran   There will be a war between Iran and Israel.   Of course the IDF has already been regularly hitting Iranian-backed forces inside Syria on a regular basis, but we should be thankful that a full-blown war in which missiles are flying back and forth between the two nations hasn’t started yet.   Unfortunately, we are closer than ever to that point. In fact, it is being reported that Israel is actually warning that it may bomb the airport in Beirut “if it determines that Iran is smuggling weapons on civilian planes”…   According to Israeli media reports, Israel has warned Lebanon that Israel Defense Forces could bomb Beirut’s airport if it determines that Iran is smuggling weapons on civilian planes destined for the terrorist group Hezbollah. The alleged weapons smuggling was reported by a London-based Arabic language newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, which quoted Israeli sources who said Israel issued the warning.   When a full-blown war between Iran and Israel finally starts, there will be no holding back by either side.   The death and destruction such a war will cause will shock the entire world, and the global oil trade will be thrown into a state of complete and utter chaos.   #5 Ukraine   The United States and Russia both continue to escalate the horrifying conflict in Ukraine.   Now that Russia is bombing the living daylights out of Ukraine’s power grid, the U.S. is choosing to respond by giving Patriot missiles systems to the Ukrainians…   Pentagon officials are in the final stages of preparing a plan to send a Patriot air defense missile system to Ukraine to counter Russian aerial assaults, U.S. officials told CBS News.   The plan has not yet been approved by either the Pentagon or the White House, but that could come as early as this week.   This represents a major escalation, and it is also being reported that the Biden administration has given the Ukrainian government the green light to conduct drone strikes deep inside of Russia.   Needless to say, the Russians are not pleased at all about having to deal with drone strikes deep inside their own territory. In fact, some prominent Russian voices are warning that the U.S. and Russia are getting dangerously close to the unthinkable. The following comes from a British news source…   Mad Vlad Putin’s henchmen have fired a warning shot that the Ukraine conflict could turn into a “full-scale nuclear war.”   They made the stark comments after the US gave the go-ahead for Kyiv to kick off drone strikes into Russia.   We don’t see such talk on U.S. television.   The Biden administration continues to assure all of us that the risk of nuclear war is extremely low, but the Russians see things very differently…   One source in Putin’s circle said: “This is playing with fire, risking full-scale war which could easily go nuclear.”   Another added: “Who will now give Moscow the green light for strikes against Ukrainian decision-making centres?”   Most people never imagined that World War I would get as bad as it did.   And most people never imagined that World War II would result in tens of millions of deaths.   Now we have entered the early stages of a third world war, and this time the major participants are armed with nuclear weapons.   If we don’t pull back from the brink, the consequences could potentially be far beyond what most people could even imagine right now.   So let us pray for peace, because a global war in which hundreds of millions of people die is not an acceptable option.

You'd Better Watch Out: The Surveillance State Is Making a List and You're On It – John Whitehead - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=5786   You'd better watch out--you'd better not pout--you'd better not cry--'cos I'm telling you why: this Christmas, it's the Surveillance State that's making a list and checking it twice, and it won't matter whether you've been bad or good.   You'll be on this list whether you like it or not.   Mass surveillance is the Deep State's version of a "gift" that keeps on giving...back to the Deep State.   Geofencing dragnets. Fusion centers. Smart devices. Behavioral threat assessments. Terror watch lists. Facial recognition. Snitch tip lines. Biometric scanners. Pre-crime. DNA databases. Data mining. Precognitive technology. Contact tracing apps.   What these add up to is a world in which, on any given day, the average person is now monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways by both government and corporate eyes and ears.   Big Tech wedded to Big Government has become Big Brother.   Every second of every day, the American people are being spied on by a vast network of digital Peeping Toms, electronic eavesdroppers and robotic snoops.   This creepy new era of government/corporate spying--in which we're being listened to, watched, tracked, followed, mapped, bought, sold and targeted--has been made possible by a global army of techno-tyrants, fusion centers and Peeping Toms.   Consider just a small sampling of the tools being used to track our movements, monitor our spending, and sniff out all the ways in which our thoughts, actions and social circles might land us on the government's naughty list, whether or not you've done anything wrong.   Tracking you based on your phone and movements: Cell phones have become de facto snitches, offering up a steady stream of digital location data on users' movements and travels. For instance, the FBI was able to use geofence data to identify more than 5,000 mobile devices (and their owners) in a 4-acre area around the Capitol on January 6. This latest surveillance tactic could land you in jail for being in the "wrong place and time."   Police are also using cell-site simulators to carry out mass surveillance of protests without the need for a warrant. Moreover, federal agents can now employ a number of hacking methods in order to gain access to your computer activities and "see" whatever you're seeing on your monitor. Malicious hacking software can also be used to remotely activate cameras and microphones, offering another means of glimpsing into the personal business of a target.   Tracking you based on your DNA. DNA technology in the hands of government officials completes our transition to a Surveillance State. If you have the misfortune to leave your DNA traces anywhere a crime has been committed, you've already got a file somewhere in some state or federal database--albeit it may be a file without a name.   By accessing your DNA, the government will soon know everything else about you that they don't already know: your family chart, your ancestry, what you look like, your health history, your inclination to follow orders or chart your own course, etc. After all, a DNA print reveals everything about "who we are, where we come from, and who we will be." It can also be used to predict the physical appearance of potential suspects. It's only a matter of time before the police state's pursuit of criminals expands into genetic profiling and a preemptive hunt for criminals of the future.   Tracking you based on your face: Facial recognition software aims to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. Coupled with surveillance cameras that blanket the country, facial recognition technology allows the government and its corporate partners to identify and track someone's movements in real-time. One particularly controversial software program created by Clearview AI has been used by police, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to collect photos on social media sites for inclusion in a massive facial recognition database.   Similarly, biometric software, which relies on one's unique identifiers (fingerprints, irises, voice prints), is becoming the standard for navigating security lines, as well as bypassing digital locks and gaining access to phones, computers, office buildings, etc. In fact, greater numbers of travelers are opting into programs that rely on their biometrics in order to avoid long waits at airport security. Scientists are also developing lasers that can identify and surveil individuals based on their heartbeats, scent and microbiome.   Tracking you based on your behavior: Rapid advances in behavioral surveillance are not only making it possible for individuals to be monitored and tracked based on their patterns of movement or behavior, including gait recognition (the way one walks), but have given rise to whole industries that revolve around predicting one's behavior based on data and surveillance patterns and are also shaping the behaviors of whole populations. One smart "anti-riot" surveillance system purports to predict mass riots and unauthorized public events by using artificial intelligence to analyze social media, news sources, surveillance video feeds and public transportation data.   Tracking you based on your spending and consumer activities: With every smartphone we buy, every GPS device we install, every Twitter, Facebook, and Google account we open, every frequent buyer card we use for purchases--whether at the grocer's, the yogurt shop, the airlines or the department store--and every credit and debit card we use to pay for our transactions, we're helping Corporate America build a dossier for its government counterparts on who we know, what we think, how we spend our money, and how we spend our time.   Consumer surveillance, by which your activities and data in the physical and online realms are tracked and shared with advertisers, has become big business, a $300 billion industry that routinely harvests your data for profit. Corporations such as Target have not only been tracking and assessing the behavior of their customers, particularly their purchasing patterns, for years, but the retailer has also funded major surveillance in cities across the country and developed behavioral surveillance algorithms that can determine whether someone's mannerisms might fit the profile of a thief.   Tracking you based on your public activities: Private corporations in conjunction with police agencies throughout the country have created a web of surveillance that encompasses all major cities in order to monitor large groups of people seamlessly, as in the case of protests and rallies. They are also engaging in extensive online surveillance, looking for any hints of "large public events, social unrest, gang communications, and criminally predicated individuals."   Defense contractors have been at the forefront of this lucrative market. Fusion centers, $330 million-a-year, information-sharing hubs for federal, state and law enforcement agencies, monitor and report such "suspicious" behavior as people buying pallets of bottled water, photographing government buildings, and applying for a pilot's license as "suspicious activity."   Tracking you based on your social media activities: Every move you make, especially on social media, is monitored, mined for data, crunched, and tabulated in order to form a picture of who you are, what makes you tick, and how best to control you when and if it becomes necessary to bring you in line. As The Intercept reported, the FBI, CIA, NSA and other government agencies are increasingly investing in and relying on corporate surveillance technologies that can mine constitutionally protected speech on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in order to identify potential extremists and predict who might engage in future acts of anti-government behavior.   This obsession with social media as a form of surveillance will have some frightening consequences in coming years. Popkin, writing for NBC News, observed, "We may very well face a future where algorithms bust people en masse for referencing illegal 'Game of Thrones' downloads... the new software has the potential to roll, Terminator-style, targeting every social media user with a shameful confession or questionable sense of humor."   Tracking you based on your social network: Not content to merely spy on individuals through their online activity, government agencies are now using surveillance technology to track one's social network, the people you might connect with by phone, text message, email or through social message, in order to ferret out possible criminals.   An FBI document obtained by Rolling Stone speaks to the ease with which agents are able to access address book data from Facebook's WhatsApp and Apple's iMessage services from the accounts of targeted individuals and individuals not under investigation who might have a targeted individual within their network. What this creates is a "guilt by association" society in which we are all as guilty as the most culpable person in our address book.   Tracking you based on your car: License plate readers are mass surveillance tools that can photograph over 1,800 license tag numbers per minute, take a picture of every passing license tag number and store the tag number and the date, time, and location of the picture in a searchable database, then share the data with law enforcement, fusion centers and private companies to track the movements of persons in their cars.   With tens of thousands of these license plate readers now in operation throughout the country, affixed to overpasses, cop cars and throughout business sectors and residential neighborhoods, it allows police to track vehicles and run the plates through law enforcement databases for abducted children, stolen cars, missing people and wanted fugitives. Of course, the technology is not infallible: there have been numerous incidents in which police have mistakenly relied on license plate data to capture out suspects only to end up detaining innocent people at gunpoint.   Tracking you based on your mail: Just about every branch of the government--from the Postal Service to the Treasury Department and every agency in between--now has its own surveillance sector, authorized to spy on the American people. For instance, the U.S. Postal Service, which has been photographing the exterior of every piece of paper mail for the past 20 years, is also spying on Americans' texts, emails and social media posts.   Headed up by the Postal Service's law enforcement division, the Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) is reportedly using facial recognition technology, combined with fake online identities, to ferret out potential troublemakers with "inflammatory" posts. The agency claims the online surveillance, which falls outside its conventional job scope of processing and delivering paper mail, is necessary to help postal workers avoid "potentially volatile situations."   Now the government wants us to believe that we have nothing to fear from these mass spying programs as long as we've done nothing wrong.   Don't believe it.   The government's definition of a "bad" guy is extraordinarily broad, and it results in the warrantless surveillance of innocent, law-abiding Americans on a staggering scale.   Surveillance, digital stalking and the data mining of the American people--weapons of compliance and control in the government's hands--haven't made America any safer. And they certainly aren't helping to preserve our freedoms.   Indeed, America will never be safe as long as the U.S. government is allowed to shred the Constitution.

See, we are the greatest generation. There is no doubt about it. We are the generation that can see the fig tree blooming. We are the generation that can see the land of Israel, the people of Israel, the enemies of Israel. We are the generation that can see all the stage for the antichrist ready, all the stage for Ezekiel War to come to pass, all the stage for a third temple to be built right after that, all the stage for the technology and the satanic brainwashing of the world.   But we, we are different. We’re not of this world, all of us. The Bible says in Philippians 2, “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of the crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as light in the world, holding fast the Word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”   There are many ways in which Christians are to be different from the world. We are different spiritually, in that we know the one true God and have the Holy Spirit. We are different morally, our moral standards are defined by the word of God. We are different behaviorally, in that we love our enemies and do good to those who hate us and pray for those who spitefully use us (Matthew 5:44).   There is one more area where we can show that we are different from the world. While the situation is nothing new, it seems to have reached fever pitch in recent years:   Philippians 2:14-15 KJV – “Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”   We live in a time of unprecedented complaints and disputes. There is a small, yet very loud, group who demand that you think like them and see everything the way they do. For many, it is regarding social issues and topics like gender and human sexuality. Many of these same people are behind identity politics and virtue signaling and just about everything else that is divisive in our world today. But it’s not just out in the world. The recent pandemic and people’s positions on lockdowns and vaccines divided families, split churches, and ended long-time friendships. If you disagree with what any of these people think, to them you are a lost, confused, ignorant person.   Paul says in his letter to the church at Philippi that we are not to be like that. We do all things without complaints and disputes. That doesn’t mean we go with the flow of the world and never speak up. Instead, it is about how we speak up, not if we speak up. Yet, in these unique and unprecedented last days, it seems Christians spend more time complaining and disputing with each other than they do fighting the devil.   Matthew 5:16 KJV – “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”   The last days are referred to in multiple places as dark times. It is in dark times where the light of good works shines the brightest and God is glorified through them. Complaining and disputing dims the light of good works and makes us look no different than the world.   Isaiah 58:3-8 KJV – “Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord? Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.”   Again, complaining and disputing are nothing new, even among God’s people. Yet, it seems to have become an art form in these last days. Paul and Isaiah are in complete agreement with the words of Jesus. Good works are a light to those in darkness and God receives the glory through them.   We, of all peoples, should be cognizant of the lateness of the hour and the shortness of time and opportunity that we have to reach others with the light of God’s truth and the hope of heaven.   We have greater reason than any generation before us to have a sense of urgency for reaching the lost and the expectancy of the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). The Jews are back in their national homeland, the world is collectively turning against them, and the nations who will protest the invasion of Israel are establishing relationships with them. The invading nations are in position to attack from the north as Ezekiel 38 says they will.   Of all the generations of church history, we have the greatest reasons to go all out for God’s kingdom and glory, and we can’t do that while complaining and disputing about each other. No former generation has had so much evidence that the Rapture and Tribulation are at hand, and the evidence goes beyond the things we mentioned about Israel.   The times are perilous. A mass defection from truth is underway. Sound doctrine is not endured, the expectation of Jesus’ return is low, false prophets abound, ethnic tensions run high, wars and rumors of wars are everywhere, pestilence and famine are rampant, and the list goes on and on.   We are living in the greatest generation of prophetic fulfillment since Jesus walked the earth. He’s coming for us soon and others all around us need to know this truth. But they can’t see the light through us when Christians are acting like they’re of the darkness, complaining and disputing with one another.   Jesus is coming soon.   Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus

Daily Jot: The Disinformation Age - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com   One thing that historians may well document is the roaring 20’s of disinformation—that is, the 2020s. The public was fed a steady diet that information was disinformation and disinformation was information. There was information that mail in ballots were used to defraud elections. There was information that a presidential candidate was involved in illegal activities with his son. There was information that the FBI and other government agencies were collaborating with a political party. There was information of better science to prevent and treat what became a worldwide pandemic. All this was characterized as disinformation by government, media, and big business. Now the truth is coming out.   The Twitter files are clearly demonstrating a pattern of deceit and disinformation that can be readily applied to several of the big time lies that government, media, and big business have perpetrated on the public to forward their agendas. That pattern is to overwhelm truth with a very loud and consistent media and public relations campaign that establishes agendas as the prevailing thought. It is so insidious that it suppresses truth, censors those bringing the truth, and labels truth-bearers with derogatory terms, like racist, bigot, denier, homophobe, misogynist, hatemonger, religious fanatic, white supremacist, whatever. As Americans, we have witnessed this brainwashing repeatedly during this decade.   This is what happens when institutionalized unelected government agencies align with a political party to protect and grow their influence and power. It is the result of weaponizing issues and enlisting businesses who benefit from those issues. It is the outcome of media that has been trained to measure all events against a certain political ideal rather than reporting truth. These alignments have caused the world to go mad. Ideas that would have been confirmed as insane just years ago are now flipped on end to characterize anyone who points out their folly as the insane ones. From doctors assigning sex at birth to the CDC dictating protocols that are known to kill people to denying clear evidence of corruption, all these and more are part of the post-truth era where disinformation is become information.   Christ said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Ephesians 5:6 says, “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” It means that if people deceive you into acting against the precepts of God, bad things are going to happen. And they are. The collective results of these lies to society are bringing not only our nation down, but also the rest of the world. When the corrupt and immoral are in control, corrupt and immoral things will happen. These evildoers will use all their efforts to convince you that their good is not evil, but good for you. It is, at least in this world, good for them. But it is bad for a moral people. In this age, when the majority says disinformation, your discernment antennae should activate. Otherwise it may have dire consequences.

A few months after the coming Christmas, we probably will also have forgotten about the gifts we will open on Christmas day. Christmas is really not about gifts under a tree; it’s about a relationship with God. Jesus came to give us life in all its fullness.   Jesus said, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10 NLT). Jesus came to this earth to bring us a meaningful life, a life with purpose. Medical science may add years to our lives, but Christ adds life to our years. He gives us a life that’s worth living.   Jesus also came to give His life as a ransom for many. He was born to die so that we might live. Jesus came with a rescue mission. He came to die on a cross. He said of himself, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45 NLT).   Jesus was born in a manger so that we could come into a relationship with God through Him. And He offers us the gift of eternal life. The Bible calls this the unspeakable gift.   What drew me to Christ at age 17 was the hope of finding the meaning of life. I wanted to know why I was on Earth. And I found that in Him. Truly, what Christ gives us is the only gift that keeps on giving. We only need to receive it.

That there was collusion between the FBI, Biden’s campaign committee, Twitter employees, and some members of the Obama administration to lie to the American people about the Hunter Biden Laptop story. That the FBI knew that the Hunter Biden Laptop story was true, but the FBI intentionally deceived the public by calling it Russian disinformation. That the FBI, Biden campaign committee, Twitter employees, and others have censored many Americans and denied them their freedom of speech. That the FBI, Biden Campaign committee, Twitter employees, and others blocked freedom of the press (censored the New York Post story). That Trump and his MAGA supporters have legitimate complaints about the fairness of the 2020 election.   This reminds me of something Paul said, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Rom. 1:18).   There can be little doubt that these people are guilty of suppressing the truth with unrighteousness, and this is not the first time by any means.   They did not hesitate to help Hillary Clinton cover up her hacked computer files. They did not hesitate to lie to the FISA court to get warrants to spy on Trump and some of his associates. Suppressing the truth with unrighteousness has become a way of life in the FBI and the Dept. of Justice. Those that deny it probably believe Merrick Garland when he looks into the cameras and says America’s border with Mexico is secure.   Their actions are one reason why the wrath of God (Tribulation Period) is on the way.   Here are a few prophecy-related events that recently made the news.   One, concerning an economic collapse: on Nov. 30, 2022, it was reported that 41% of U.S. small business owners said they could not pay the full amount of their rent on time in Nov. 2022.   The number was 30% in Sept., 37% in Oct., and 41% in Nov.   Two, concerning the Mark of the Beast in a person’s forehead or in their right hand: on Nov. 30, 2022, Elon Musk said his company hopes to begin human trials of its Neuralink wireless brain chip within 6 months.   Musk is trying to develop brain chips that will restore a patient’s eyesight/motor functions and possibly allow them to mentally control electronic devices.   A chip implanted in one’s brain (forehead) could be tracked, but skeptics believe it will be a while before society gets to that.   Three, concerning the Mark of the Beast: on Nov. 28, 2022, a writer named JD Heyes expressed the opinion that governments are trying to develop a digital currency (CBDC) to gain control of people’s spending habits (to influence or block people’s buying and selling).   Four, on Nov. 30, 2022, Presumptive Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu promised three things:   He will neutralize the Iranian nuclear threat against Israel. He will expand the Abraham Accords and make peace with Saudi Arabia. His first state visit will be to the UAE (the first Arab nation to make peace with Israel in 25 years) to demonstrate that he is serious about making peace with the Arabs. Five, concerning who is running things in the U.S.: on Dec. 1, 2022, former Pres. Obama traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to campaign for Sen. Raphael Warnock.   During a campaign speech on Warnock’s behalf, Obama said, “We love Uncle Joe. We just don’t give him very difficult things to do.”   Obama is on video publicly admitting that he and others are controlling what Biden does.   Put another way, even if Biden won the 2020 election, it has been stolen because Obama and others are in charge.   Six, concerning the decline of America: on Dec. 1, 2022, highly respected conservative writer Victor Davis Hanson posted an article listing ten ways someone could destroy the U.S. if they really wanted to.   Here is Hanson’s incredible list (in my words).   Destroy America’s energy independence. Print and distribute trillions of dollars to weaken America’s money. Erase the border and allow millions of people into America. Destroy the public’s confidence in America’s elections. Redefine crime, change and ignore the laws to exempt some criminals. Divide America, tear down its existing culture, identify people by their race, gender, etc., call people names (racists, etc.). Betray America’s allies (Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, etc.) and appease our enemies (Iran, Venezuela, etc.). Destroy the first amendment to the Constitution, censor free speech, call some free speech hate speech, etc. Demonize America’s citizens (MAGA Republicans) and prosecute politicians (Trump) that oppose you. Mandate restrictions on Americans (force vaccinations, use of masks, lockdowns, etc.). (My opinion: Mr. Hanson is right on target. There appears to be a deliberate effort to weaken America and surrender its sovereignty to a one-world government. Sadly, multitudes could soon find themselves, family, and friends in the Tribulation Period. Thankfully, the Rapture comes first, multitudes will get saved during the Tribulation Period, and Jesus will deal with those that are destroying America.)   Seven, concerning world government: on Dec. 1, 2022, The American Thinker posted an opinion piece by Robert A. Taft.   According to Taft, the East (Russia, China, and their allies) and the West (the U.S. and EU) have agreed to the following since they met on Nov. 15-16, 2022, at the G-20 meeting in Bali:   Implement a communist-style global government. Reduce the global population of the earth. Implement global healthcare. Use technology to control everyone (to force everyone to think alike and submit to world government). Advance transhumanism (the merger of people with technology). If he has agreed to implement a communist-style global government, he is one that is destroying Democracy, and he is suppressing the truth by accusing others.)   Eight, concerning famine: on Dec. 1, 2022, the German government ordered farmers in a large, highly productive farming area of the nation to cut their use of nitrogen-based fertilizer by 20%.   This is not good, but it is believed to be just the first cut, and that more cuts are on the way.   Nine, Concerning the decline of America: on Dec. 5, 2022, it was reported that a George Soros-funded group called Governing for Impact (GFI) has advised the Biden administration that the Clean Air Act gives the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the authority to control or prohibit the manufacture and sale of any motor vehicle fuel including gasoline by declaring that the fuel emissions endanger public health.   Apparently, GFI recommended a partial ban (not a total ban) of gasoline because the courts would likely strike it down.   (My opinion: Reducing the manufacture and sale of gasoline in the U.S. would negatively impact the U.S. in a major way, and Americans should be very concerned about any advice that George Soros gives to the U.S. government.)   Finally, are you Rapture Ready?   If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.   duck_daymond@yahoo.com

All of them have prophetic implications.   The Rise of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Cabal and their Rush to Global Government   Ten years ago, had you heard of Klaus Schwab? How about Yuval Noah Harari? Were you tracking them even five years ago? Of course not. Today many are aware of this crowd and their one-world intentions. A lot of our readers understand this is the true shadow government. Revelation 13 outlines their scheme well.   The Stirring Up of the Spirit of the Antichrist   We all see the new lawlessness and rebellion in every aspect of society! Its current overdrive was sparked in my hometown, Minneapolis, in May, 2020 with the George Floyd ordeal. Now police forces are reduced, criminals face no bail, and prosecutors encourage more lawlessness. But the spirit of the Antichrist is everywhere—in our government, in our schools, and more. It is priming the pump for the real Antichrist.   Government Knows Best—Trust It   That has been the mantra in the Western world for almost three years. Trust the government for vaccines, to properly handle pandemics and other health issues, and to keep you well! Millions bought into it. Millions will now transition from trusting government to trusting the Antichrist.   The Rise of the Green Dragon: The Worship of Mother Earth   Entire continents have caved to the religion of climate change and environmentalism. They worship mother earth rather than loving Father God. Joe Biden wants to block the sun to fight global warming. In the name of saving energy, farmers in Europe are being put out of business, an action that is inviting a famine. Sane people know this is lunacy, but they are helpless when their governments mandate foolishness.   The Race Towards Digital Currency: Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)   Why are we surprised when our authorities tell us cash is going away? A cashless system plays a prominent biblical end-time role. More than 100 nations are exploring CBDCs, according to the IMF. The Biden Administration is pushing this. It is being portrayed as the answer to many of the world’s problems! We could see it in 2023.   The Decline of America, Rise of Radical Liberalism, and Lack of a World Leader   Although it’s tough to watch, America is in decline. At the same time, name even one global leader. Leftists are trying to make America a liberal paradise like Venezuela. Sadly, the result is more like a banana republic. Progressives are attempting to accomplish what every other Socialist/Communist country has: Destroy the middle class, obtain unending power, create a permanent welfare state, and create total dependence. You can’t have a superpower when the goal is global government.   Christians Are Canceled; Jews are Under Attack   When Sam Brownbeck’s National Committee for Religious Freedom needed a bank account, they went to J.P. Morgan Chase. They quickly realized their account was closed! They are fighting back. At the same time, Jews are under attack in many countries. Assaults have increased over 100% in the last year. New York City attacks against Jews are up 125% in the last year. The “people of the book”, Jews and Christians, are hated as the Bible foretold.   The Rise of Strong Delusion and Global Deception   How else do you explain the rage that girls can become boys and boys can become girls? That men can join women’s sports and change clothes in the ladies’ locker rooms? And that all of this is totally normal and healthy? Trans-identifying kids in the U.S. have increased by almost 1,000% in the last two years. How do you explain the love of killing a baby in the womb, at any stage of life, with a torturous procedure? God will not tolerate this much longer!   Running Amok: Apostasy in the Church   It would take a three-hundred-page book to summarize the current state of the church now. In the last two years, thousands have gone “woke”, seeker-sensitive, and more. Social justice has replaced salvation. Many teach that the church will make the world a better place—even perfect. The sheep are trying to find a solid church—and one that talks about issues of the day and Bible prophecy. Many churches want to tell people they can have their best life now.   The Staggering Rise of the Paranormal and Occult, Called Sorcery in the Bible   The world, and some in the church, are dancing with the devil. Social media encourages this and provides a platform. Even Christians dabble in things they know they shouldn’t. Then there is the blatant—the Commonwealth Games last summer that featured the re-creation of the Tower of Babel and a woman riding a beast—with many bowing down to the beast. This is all leading to rampant sorcery talked about in Revelation, and there it is combined with drugs.   What did you think the last days would look like? Believe the Bible when it calls our times perilous and filled with people possessing selfish, reckless motives. God is orchestrating events to wind up this amazing drama known as the Church Age. It describes a nation bent on multiplying its nuclear forces.   First and foremost, the 2022 report reveals that China could field 1,500 nuclear weapons by 2035. This effectively would equal the nuclear arsenal of the United States, which deploys around 1,550 nuclear weapons (as limited by the New START treaty with Russia).   Last year's report estimated that China would have 1,000 warheads fielded by 2030, but this new assessment indicates China's intent to achieve nuclear parity with, or surpass, the U.S.   Second, the new report states that China's nuclear buildup--which already had been described by the commander of U.S. Strategic Command as a "strategic breakout"--has accelerated.   It's worth recalling that in 2020, the Pentagon estimated that China would double its stockpile of about 200 nuclear weapons over the decade. The 2022 report now states that China has already done so--in just two years.   Indeed, this acceleration matches the prediction from Adm. Charles Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, that "whatever the time estimate that the intelligence community gives you on anything from China, divide it by two and maybe by four and you will get closer to the right answer."   These updated estimates also remind Americans that we don't know when China will stop this nuclear expansion, and that it would be unwise to assume the regime will stop at 1,000 warheads by 2030 or even 1,500 by 2035. Given China's ambitions to become a top military power and supplant the U.S. on the world stage, what's to stop it from soaring past parity with the U.S. and trying to achieve nuclear superiority?   Yet the United States currently doesn't have the nuclear forces designed to deter a Chinese nuclear threat of this size. The size and composition of the U.S. nuclear deterrent was designed around 2010, based on assumptions of a more benign threat environment than the one we see today.   At that time--when decisions about the future U.S. nuclear force were made--China was expected to maintain its historic "minimum deterrence" strategy. No one predicted the rapid nuclear expansion we're seeing today. As nuclear threats continue to grow, so does the concern that U.S. nuclear forces may not be sufficient to meet the demands of the new and dynamic threat environment.   Third, the Pentagon report notes China's deliberate effort to expand warhead production. In particular, it highlights Beijing's increasing capacity to produce plutonium, the nuclear material required for a nuclear weapon.   Access to plutonium has been regarded by some analysts as a limiting factor for China's nuclear program. But the Pentagon report indicates that China is determined to remedy this. Although the report doesn't describe China's warhead production in detail, it estimates a deployed force of 1,000 warheads by 2030 growing to 1,500 fielded warheads by 2035; this could suggest a rough production capacity of around 100 warheads per year in the 2030s.   This would be significant.   By comparison, the U.S. lacks the ability to produce nuclear warheads because it doesn't have the capacity to produce plutonium pits, which compose the core of any nuclear weapon.   The U.S. currently is working to reconstitute its ability to produce plutonium pits, with the goal of producing 80 pits per year. But this capability isn't expected to be fully operational until 2032 at the earliest.   In short, the Pentagon report suggests that China still will possess a larger warhead production capacity even if the U.S. fully achieves its own production goals.   What's more, the goal of producing 80 pits a year is based on the need to replace existing weapons before they age out. The U.S. does have a substantial number of warheads in reserve, but those would require new plutonium pits as well. In other words, U.S. plutonium pit production only will enable the U.S. to replace its existing forces while China's weapons production will increase its arsenal dramatically.   A Chinese advantage in capacity to produce warheads provides President Xi Jinping a path to nuclear superiority, should he choose to pursue it. The U.S., for its part, would have few options to respond if China decided to continue building beyond 1,500 warheads. We Are About To Witness A MAJOR Move Toward A Cashless Society - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/we-are-about-to-witness-a-major-move-toward-a-cashless-society/   The war on cash has just gone to an entirely new level. When I heard that the European Union was planning to completely ban all cash transactions above 10,000 euros, I had a hard time believing it. There are so many wild rumors flying around on the Internet these days, and so I wasn’t going to write about this unless I could confirm it. Unfortunately, this particular rumor is quite real. Under the pretext of fighting “money laundering and terrorist financing”, the European Union will be entirely outlawing all cash payments greater than 10,000 euros. The following comes from the official website of the Council of the European Union…   By limiting large cash payments, the EU will make it harder for criminals to launder dirty money. An EU-wide maximum limit of €10.000 is set for cash payments. Member states will have the flexibility to impose a lower maximum limit if they wish.   So this means that in some countries the upper limit could potentially be a lot lower than 10,000 euros.   But instead of framing it as a major move toward a cashless society, the EU is trying to claim that this is all about fighting terrorists.   The following is what Zbyněk Stanjura, the Minister for Finance in the Czech Republic, has said about this upcoming change…   Terrorists and those who finance them are not welcome in Europe. In order to launder dirty money, criminal individuals and organisations had to look for loopholes in our existing rules which are already quite strict. But our intention is to close these loopholes further, and to apply even stricter rules in all EU member states. Large cash payments beyond €10.000 will become impossible. Trying to stay anonymous when buying or selling crypto-assets will become much more difficult. Hiding behind multiple layers of ownership of companies won’t work any more. It will even become difficult to launder dirty money via jewellers or goldsmiths.   Meanwhile, the European Central Bank has been actively considering the possibility of introducing a “digital euro”. The following comes from the official website of the European Central Bank…   We are working with the national central banks of the euro area to investigate whether to introduce a digital euro. It would be a central bank digital currency, an electronic equivalent to cash. And it would complement banknotes and coins, giving people an additional choice about how to pay.   Well isn’t that convenient?   As they take cash away from the general population, it turns out that they have already been working on the replacement.   Incredibly, the ECB even has the gall to claim that this new digital currency will be “like cash”…   A digital euro would offer an electronic means of payment that anyone could use in the euro area. It would be secure and user-friendly, like cash is today. As central bank money issued by the ECB, it would be different from “private money”, but you could also use a card or a phone app to pay with digital euro.   Yes, you will be able to spend it just like you can spend cash.   But unlike cash, a digital euro will allow authorities to track whatever you buy and sell with it.   Won’t that be wonderful?   By the way, the Federal Reserve is currently working on a digital currency as well.   And this is all happening as the private cryptocurrency industry is imploding all around us.   Many had believed that decentralized cryptocurrencies would be the future of commerce, but global central banks were never going to allow that to happen.   Instead, it appears that they intend to force all of us on to a cashless grid in which everyone uses digital currencies that are issued by them.   Needless to say, a lot of people out there are quite wary of any moves toward a cashless society because they believe that it is part of the “end times” scenario described in the Bible. According to one recent survey, approximately 39 percent of all Americans are convinced that we are living in the “end times” right now…   Nearly two in five Americans, including half of self-identified Christians and a quarter of the religiously unaffiliated, agree “we are living in the End Times,” a new study has found.   That’s about 39% of Americans who believe we are living in the End Times, according to Pew Research, highlighted by Lifeway Research.   Other surveys have come up with similar results.   This shouldn’t come as a surprise to any of us, because global events have definitely started to spin out of control in recent years. At this point, even secular websites are publishing articles about the surging popularity of “apocalyptic scenarios”…   There’s no denying that the apocalypse is currently having a moment, culturally and politically. It could be driven partly by the pandemic and fears of climate change. Those are actual, frightening apocalyptic scourges. Russia’s war has also set off alarm bells for certain evangelicals, as there was a Cold War tradition of identifying the country, variably, with Gog or Magog.   Seeing Slate discuss such things made me chuckle.   But this is where we are.   Just about every day, more crazy things take place that have literally never happened before. For example, I came across the following story earlier today…   For past 12 months, scientists have been studying a 50-second burst of energy from over a billion light-years away that could change how we understand how stars live and die.   In December 2021, a massive blast of energy hit the Earth’s atmosphere. Its source was a gamma-ray burst – one of the most powerful explosions in the universe – but not just any gamma ray burst.   One scientist said at the time that the event – named GRB 211211A – “looks unlike anything else we have seen before”.   As time rolls along, things are only going to get even more weird.   If you have been waiting for life to “return to normal”, you can stop right now.   It simply is not going to happen, and I believe that global events will accelerate even more during the early stages of 2023. Digital Currency: The Fed Moves Toward Monetary Totalitarianism - Tyler Durden - https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/digital-currency-fed-moves-toward-monetary-totalitarianism     The Federal Reserve is sowing the seeds for its central bank digital currency (CBDC). It may seem that the purpose of a CBDC is to facilitate transactions and enhance economic activity, but CBDCs are mainly about more government control over individuals. If a CBDC were implemented, the central bank would have access to all transactions in addition to being capable of freezing accounts.   It may seem dystopian—something that only totalitarian governments would do—but there have been recent cases of asset freezing in Canada and Brazil. Moreover, a CBDC would give the government the power to determine how much a person can spend, establish expiration dates for deposits, and even penalize people who saved money.   The war on cash is also a reason why governments want to implement CBDCs. The end of cash would mean less privacy for individuals and would allow central banks to maintain a monetary policy of negative interest rates with greater ease (since individuals would be unable to withdraw money commercial banks to avoid losses).   Once the CBDC arrives, instead of a deposit being a commercial bank’s liability, a deposit would be the central bank’s liability.   In 2020, China launched a digital yuan pilot program. As mentioned by Seeking Alpha, China wants to implement a CBDC because “this would give [the government] a remarkable amount of information about what consumers are spending their money on.”   The government could easily track digital payments with a CBDC. Bloomberg noted in an article published when the digital yuan pilot program was launched that the digital currency “offers China’s authorities a degree of control never possible with cash.” A CBDC could allow the Chinese government to monitor mobile app purchases (which accounted for about 16 percent of the country’s gross domestic product in 2020) more closely. Bloomberg describes how much control a CBDC could give Chinese authorities:   The PBOC [People’s Bank of China] has also indicated that it could put limits on the sizes of some transactions, or even require an appointment to make large ones. Some observers wonder whether payments could be linked to the emerging social-credit system, wherein citizens with exemplary behavior are “whitelisted” for privileges, while those with criminal and other infractions find themselves left out.   Details on China’s social credit system can be found here: https://mises.org/wire/progressive-governance-needs-social-credit-state     The Chinese government is waging war on cash. And they are not alone. In 2017, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) published a document offering suggestions to governments—even in the face of strong public opposition—on how to move toward a cashless society. Governments and central bankers claim that the shift to a cashless society will help prevent crime and increase convenience for ordinary people. But the real motivation behind the war on cash is more government control over the individual.   And the US is getting ready to establish its own CBDC (or something similar). The first step was taken in August, when the Fed announced FedNow. FedNow will be an instant payment system and is scheduled to be launched between May and July 2023.   FedNow is practically identical to Brazil’s PIX. PIX was implemented by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) in November 2020. It is a convenient instant payment system (using mobile devices) without user fees, and a reputation as being safe to use.   A year after its launch, PIX already had 112 million people registered, or just over half of the Brazilian population. Of course, frauds and scams do occur over PIX, but most are social engineering scams (see here, here, and here) and are not system flaws; that is, they are scams that exploit the public’s lack of knowledge of PIX technology.   Bear in mind that PIX is not the Brazilian CBDC. It is just a payment system. However, the BCB has access to transactions made through PIX; therefore, PIX can be considered the seed of the Brazilian CBDC. It is already an invasion of the privacy of Brazilians. And FedNow is set to follow suit.   Additionally, the New York Fed has recently launched a twelve-week pilot program with several commercial banks to test the feasibility of a CBDC in the US. The program will use digital tokens to represent bank deposits. Institutions involved in the program will make simulated transactions to test the system. According to Reuters, “the pilot [program] will test how banks using digital dollar tokens in a common database can help speed up payments.”   Banks involved in the pilot program include BNY Mellon, Citi, HSBC, Mastercard, PNC Bank, TD Bank, Truist, US Bank, and Wells Fargo. The global financial messaging service provider SWIFT is also participating to “support interoperability across the international financial ecosystem.” (This video details the pilot program and how the US CBDC would work.)     The IMF is also thinking of a way to connect different CBDCs under a single system. In other words, the IMF plans to create a PIX/FedNow for CBDCs around the globe:   Things could change as money becomes tokenized; that is, accessible to anyone with the right private key and transferable to anyone with access to the same network. Examples of tokenized money include so-called stablecoins, such as USD Coin, and central bank digital currency.   The reception of Brazil’s PIX shows that FedNow will likely be widely adopted due to its convenience; however, this positive economic and technological element should not overshadow the increased control instant payment systems will give to central banks. The BCB has access to all transactions made by Brazilians through PIX, and this would only get worse should a CBDC be implemented.   With a CBDC, it would be easier for the government to carry out expansionary monetary policies (which cause misallocations of resources and business cycles) and exert greater control over citizens’ finances. So, it seems good for us to stop occasionally, and think about various aspects of the Christmas miracle. One of those aspects is that it’s still happening. We’re in the midst of the Christmas miracle right now. And from here, the glorious climax of the story looks extremely close.   The Old Testament prophets spoke of the Messiah almost as if He would be two different people. Isaiah 53:4-6 (NKJV) is a great example of prophecies depicting the Messiah suffering for our sins. “He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief…. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”   Through the same prophet, Isaiah, God gave us what seems like an opposite picture in chapter 9, verses 6 and 7. “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end.”   How could the same Person die for our sins, yet rule the world forever? In retrospect, the answer is obvious. He would rise from the dead. We know from history that God resurrected Jesus. Hundreds of witnesses saw and heard the risen Christ. Jesus told us the eternal plan of God was for Him to die for our sins, rise from the dead, ascend into heaven, and return at the right time. In Matthew 26:64, Jesus said, “Hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”   At Christmas we celebrate the Lord’s first coming, but we should at the same time celebrate His second coming. It hasn’t happened yet, but one of the great messages of Christmas is that God keeps His promises. He kept His promises in the past, and, we can be sure, He will keep them in the future. In John 14:3, Jesus promised, “I will come again.”   After Jesus ascended into heaven, angels appeared to His disciples. They said, “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)   This same Jesus will return! And when He returns, everything will change.   Back in the 1970s, I wrote a book with the title, There’s A New World Coming. It’s a verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation. We sometimes look at that book in the Bible with dread because it contains “apocalyptic” prophecies. But as you can see by the title of my book, Revelation is also filled of hope and joyous expectation. Jesus is coming again, and He will make all things new.   There’s A New World Coming was written a long time ago, but because it is a study of scripture, it never goes stale.
