a new religions /AI) and a new AI bible

A New “AI Religion” And A New “AI Bible”? - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/a-new-ai-religion-and-a-new-ai-bible/

Will millions of people soon be looking to artificial intelligence for spiritual guidance? Such a notion may sound crazy to you, but we should not underestimate how rapidly AI is changing our world. Earlier today, my wife showed me some of the things that ChatGPT is capable of doing. In just a matter of moments, it can produce extremely sophisticated answers to very complex questions. Honestly, I was extremely impressed. Other AI programs are capable of producing very realistic photos, artwork and videos. Of course what we are seeing right now is just the beginning. AI technology is advancing at an exponential rate, and given enough time it would be millions of times more powerful than it is right now.

In a previous article, I warned that this sort of technology has the potential to take over every aspect of our lives.

Sadly, that even includes religion.

On Friday, over 300 people attended a “church service” that was led by a ChatGPT chatbot…

The artificial intelligence chatbot asked the believers in the fully packed St. Paul’s church in the Bavarian town of Fuerth to rise from the pews and praise the Lord.

The ChatGPT chatbot, personified by an avatar of a bearded Black man on a huge screen above the altar, then began preaching to the more than 300 people who had shown up on Friday morning for an experimental Lutheran church service almost entirely generated by AI.

During the 40 minute service, four different “avatars” appeared on the screen.

Two of them were young women, and two of them were young men.

The 29-year-old that came up with this idea said that about 98 percent of the content for the service “comes from the machine”…

The 40-minute service – including the sermon, prayers and music – was created by ChatGPT and Jonas Simmerlein, a theologian and philosopher from the University of Vienna.

“I conceived this service – but actually I rather accompanied it, because I would say about 98% comes from the machine,” the 29-year-old scholar told The Associated Press.

In this case, ChatGPT was asked to contribute to a Christian worship service, and that is definitely very creepy.

But of course it is probably just a matter of time before entirely new religions are created by artificial intelligence.

In fact, the WEF’s Yuval Noah Harari seems to think that we are already “on the verge” of seeing that happen…

The world is on the verge of a new religion created by artificial intelligence, the historian Yuval Noah Harari has claimed.

The academic – known for his bestselling book Sapiens – said software such as ChatGPT could attract worshippers by writing its own sacred texts.

Speaking at a science conference, he said AI had crossed a new frontier by ‘gaining mastery’ of our language and was now capable of using it to shape human culture.

You and I may think that this is a load of nonsense, but the truth is that there are millions of people out there that already believe some really strange things.

For example, this week I read about something called “the Church of Psilomethoxin” that already has several hundred followers…

A motley assemblage of army veterans, yogis, and psychonauts are mingling in April in the garden of a luxury property just outside Austin, Texas, on the hottest day of the year yet in the state. Some 350 people are here to dance to ambient music and celebrate a unique new religious congregation that worships with a psychedelic sacrament – one they claim to have created themselves by crossbreeding magic mushrooms with hallucinogenic toad venom. Welcome to the Church of Psilomethoxin.

If a “superhuman intelligence” were to create an extremely appealing new “religion” that reflects the cultural values that are currently dominant in our society, I could see a lot of people being attracted to it.

The WEF’s Yuval Noah Harari believes that “in a few years there might be religions that are actually correct”, and he is convinced that AI could even be used to “write a new Bible”…

Harari then dropped a bomb: “AI can create new ideas; [it] can even write a new Bible.”

He added that “throughout history, religions dreamt about having a book written by a superhuman intelligence, by a non-human entity” and that “in a few years there might be religions that are actually correct … just think about a religion whose holy book is written by an AI. That could be a reality in a few years.”

If millions of people around the globe started looking to a “superhuman intelligence” to shape their core beliefs, the potential for abuse would be off the charts.

Whoever was in control of that “superhuman intelligence” would potentially have an army of adherents ready and willing to do whatever they were commanded.

It would be difficult for me to overstate the danger that AI poses for our society.

In the wrong hands, such technology could result in death and destruction on an epic scale.

Last month, a group of AI scientists signed a statement warning about “the risk of extinction from AI”, but it was almost entirely ignored by the mainstream media…

On May 30, a research organization called the Center for AI Safety released a 22-word statement signed by a number of prominent “AI scientists,” including Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI; Demis Hassabis, the CEO of Google DeepMind; and Geoffrey Hinton, who has been described as the “godfather” of AI. It reads:

Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.

This statement made headlines around the world, with many media reports suggesting that experts now believe “AI could lead to human extinction,” to quote a CNN article.

Given enough time, artificial intelligence would change our society in ways that we cannot even imagine right now.

But will we ever get to that stage?

The truth is that we have reached an absolutely critical turning point in our history, and humanity is rapidly running out of time.

Some people believe that artificial intelligence will save us from ourselves and will help to usher in a new golden age of peace and prosperity.

Others are entirely convinced that artificial intelligence has the potential to greatly contribute to the fall of humanity.

Either way, the pace of change is only going to accelerate in the years ahead.

We are moving into times that will truly look like something out of a science fiction movie, and I would suggest that is not good news at all.

Thought Wars: Is America Bent on Self-Destruction? – By Hal Lindsey - https://harbingersdaily.com/thought-wars-is-america-bent-on-self-destruction/

1838 was a time of great turmoil in America. In January of that year, a 28-year-old Illinois State Representative addressed a prominent Springfield debating society. The tall, lanky lawyer called his subject, “The Perpetuation of Our Political Institutions.” His name was Abraham Lincoln.

Deeply concerned about his nation’s future, Lincoln asked, “At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined… could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”

Even in an era of intercontinental ballistic missiles able to cross oceans in mere minutes, inner corruption is still more dangerous to America than attack from the outside. Inner weakness attracts aggression. “If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.”

Today, our nation seems bent on self-destruction. We see it in legislatures, executive mansions, courts, and educational institutions. It has metastasized into music studios, film sets, and libraries. Publishing houses, television networks, and corporate boardrooms also seem bent on destroying the American rights, ideals, and morality that made their prosperity possible.

Destructive choices are not limited to the wealthy and powerful. They’re also being made by 15-year-olds standing on street corners and by 60-year-olds deciding what television program to watch. They are being decided by Christians who know they should read the Bible, but place it so low on their list of priorities that it rarely gets opened.

We hear a great deal about culture wars. But culture is an outer reflection of our inward selves. The real war is about thought, and thoughts are largely a matter of choice. Yes, some thoughts come unbidden. But we get to choose whether to entertain and nourish those thoughts, or not. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says to take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

We can choose to focus our thinking on that which will strengthen and nourish our souls in Christ. Psalms 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

The world works overtime to corrupt our thoughts and those of our young. But the Bible says we can choose our thoughts. We see the terrible things being taught in schools, and we wonder what we can do. The answer is to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us through His holy word.

Even if you are physically frail, you can be a giant in Christ — speaking persuasively, praying effectually, and walking in the power of His great love. Start by letting “your mind dwell on these things.”

Nearing Midnight: June: The Holy Month of Pride – Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/

In late May, I started seeing news articles that declared June LGBTQ Pride Month. I thought this was a new thing, but it has actually been building up for a couple of decades. US President Bill Clinton was the person who got the ball rolling. In June 1999, he declared the anniversary of the Stonewall riots every June in America as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. In 2009, President Barack Obama declared June LGBT Pride Month. On 1 June 2021, President Joe Biden issued an official presidential proclamation recognizing June as Pride Month.

Since about 80% of the population has no interest in these alternative sexual lifestyles, you might like to know who is financially backing this campaign. Three key main drivers are the largest investment firms of Black Rock, Vanguard, and State Street. These companies control $20 trillion in assets. When Joe Biden was VP, he secretly met with them, saying they have greater power than the Democratic party to advance Left-wing social agendas.

Since they sit on many boards, through their ownership of millions of company shares, they can force firms to adopt sexual diversity platforms. It doesn’t matter that sales were down that quarter. Activists want to know why the company doesn’t have any black lesbians in management.

If Freddie Mercury, Rock Hudson, and Liberace were still alive, they would likely be upset that the people managing their savings were fixated on sexual matters. A homosexual 20 years ago would think the only agenda with their investments should be focused on making them grow in value. It is actually illegal for CEOs to conduct transactions that will harm the value of a company. Their duty is to increase shareholder net worth, and they can be sued for failing in their duties.

The job of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen should be to look after the nation’s economy. While major banks are failing and the danger of a national debt defect loomed closer, Yellen found time to host several LGBTQ events.

While federal agencies have been tripping over themselves to pledge allegiance to queer activism, they couldn’t be bothered to recognize the fallen troops who make our freedom possible. Despite a government-wide tweet-fest over Pride Month, most of them ignore Memorial Day altogether.

Not to be outdone, education officials decided to change their government seal to the “progress, pride” flag, paying special homage to transgenderism—while the Marines, Air Force, and Space Force hyped everything from rainbow bullets to astronauts “queering” the moon.

The Biden administration is operating under a demonic delusion that it is working to make the government more reflect the American people. At this stage, the left can only work to make the US look more like Sodom and Gomorrah.

They want to achieve diversity by hiring people who represent the rainbow flag. If they give a job to a transexual, they should then employ 100 straight guys. We could have 30% of an agency identify as queer, and it still wouldn’t be enough.

Elon Musk is a rare island of sanity on most issues. He celebrated the first day of pride month by promising to lobby against child genital mutilation. “This is a major problem. I will be actively lobbying to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent. Shame on those who advocate this! It is utterly contemptible,” he said.

I have no personal issues with gay people. If they think God endorses their lifestyle, that’s between them and their creator. The problem comes when they demand that everyone endorse their sexual practices. Colorado baker Jack Phillips has lost two major cases because he refuses to bake a cake with a homosexual theme.

No one should be forced to create something that violates their fundamental beliefs. It would be crazy to think that a Nazi could go into a Jewish bakery and demand that they make him a cake that looks like the crematoria at Auschwitz. Christians can be compelled to violate God’s law because the promotion of evil is one of Satan’s highest priorities.

It just shows how far America has fallen when we have a whole month dedicated to celebrating sexual immorality. Soon every day will be Pride Day. The Bible warns that when a society is at a certain stage of perversion, he will lift his hand of protection, and it will die of self-destruction.

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:24-27 NIV).

Daily Jot: Speaking from the abundance of the heart - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com

We live in very divisive times. It seems that we as a society have lost what it means to be neighborly and agreeable. If there is the slightest disagreement on issues or worldview, there is an immediate assumption that the person is an enemy. We see it every day in the headlines. This division is apparent on news programs, in politics, even in and quite possibly, especially, in the church. People are vocal about it. Disagreement shows up in social media, sometimes in the most vile of terms. Then when the offender is called out on their rant, they try to say they didn’t mean it the way it came across. But words have meaning, and we as followers of Christ must weigh them with care.

In Luke 6:45, the Lord said, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil; for of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks.” Leviticus discusses a leprosy-like condition called tzara’at. Those who spoke evil of another would break out in tzara’at. They had to go to the priest for repentance and healing. Called lashon hara, meaning “evil tongue,” speaking evil of someone, slandering them, libeling them, passing gossip, were all forbidden by the Lord God. Moses, when he told God that the people wouldn’t believe that God had sent him, turned white with tzara’at for speaking evil about God’s people. Miriam was also stricken with tzara’at when she spoke critically of Moses. This is very serious, especially for leaders.

We are all leaders and priests as believers in Christ. As in 1 Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people: that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” Verse 12 says, “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” We, therefore are held to a higher standard and what we speak and say, or how we say it, is part of our accountability to God. Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. James writes that the tongue is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. He draws on the words of Christ about not having bitter and envying strife in our heart resulting in evil speech.

There is a fine line between speaking evil and holding accountability. People attack us, call us names, label us with the worst of their own hearts’ intent. They accuse us of what is actually in their own heart. They lie. They demean. They bully. They call evil good and good evil. So how are we supposed to stand fast and overcome evil with good? It starts with our speech. It’s easy to get angry. It’s not so easy to respond in love. Yes, we can comment on issues and positions and constructively criticize. But personal attacks that offer no value other than making us feel better are not where a royal priesthood should go. Avoid anger. Educate. Meet emotional accusations with truth in love. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20 that “we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.” Let the abundance of your heart be shown.

Daily Devotion: Bring Them Up - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. —Ephesians 6:4

https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/bring-them-up/ - Listen

A while back I was at a restaurant with my wife, and we were enjoying the view as the sun began to set. Then I glanced at a table nearby where a young family was sitting.

The dad was on his phone, the mother was on her phone, and the baby was on a tablet—in fact, there was a tablet holder in the stroller!

I thought, “What are we doing to these kids?” We put them in front of devices and bombard them with information, and I wonder whether their brains are forming properly. Are they even learning to read social cues and communicate?

What concerns me is that a lot of parents are leaving their kids to themselves. Yet it’s the parents’ job to raise their own children. God created the family, and He loves the family. And as someone has pointed out, a family can survive without a nation, but a nation cannot survive without the family.

Ephesian 6:4 reminds us, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord” (NLT). The phrase “bring them up” means “to nourish.”

We should protect our children, watch over them, and help them process what they’re being exposed to.

Moses said to the Israelites, “And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up” (Deuteronomy 6:6–7 NLT).

As a parent, nothing can happen through you until it has first happened to you. You cannot take your children any further spiritually than you have gone yourself.
